taer
Just purchased a Vengeance 2000 headset yesterday. It seems the way to get windows to re-enable my desktop speakers after finishing using them(drivers 2.0.7) is to either use control panel(annoying) or unplug the receiver(less annoying, but still a task to do). What would be amazing is to have the driver auto disable itself as a output/input device when you turn off the headset. The dongle obviously knows it lost the link to the headset, it seems that could easily be propagated back to the driver and thus switch back to desktop speakers without manual steps. Any chance of this happening? It's my only complaint so far
Toasted
I don't think its possible as the driver won't know if the headset is turned off. I might be wrong though. Good suggestion though.
taer
There is the blue light on the dongle that blinks when dis-connected and goes solid on connection. It then goes back to slow blink when I power off the headset. So something in the dongle knows the current state of the headset.
Toasted
That indicates that there is no connection to the headset. But Windows doesn't know if its turned off because the dongle is still powered and detected as an audio device. If the dongle turns off when it loses connection, It would bring another issue where it won't know when the headset is turned on.
taer
Right, but couldn't the dongle emit an event to the driver on loss of headset link to automatically call Windows APIs to make it non-active as a sound device?
Toasted
I'm not sure if that is possible.
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted April 2, 2013 Corsair Employees Share Posted April 2, 2013 There are third party software that will allow you to switch sound sources but what you're requesting is not possible due to OS limitations.
