sufehmi
Hi, based on the Corsair Configurator, the following is the compatible memory type for my MSI H55M-P33 motherboard : CMV4GX3M1A1333C9 : http://www.corsair.com/us/cmv4gx3m1a1333c9.html However, the computer kept on rebooting after I installed 2 of those memory module. (on DIMM-1 & DIMM-3 slots) I tried putting in just 1 module, into its DIMM-1 slot (as instructed by the motherboard's manual), each module tried several times - and it still kept on rebooting. I have tried adjusting the BIOS setting per instruction (9-9-9-24, 2T, 1.5V, 1333 MHz). I have also tried to underclock it (1060 MHz), over-voltage up to 1.7V. Still no joy. So I tried putting another memory module, and it works. Here's its spec for your info : Brand: V-gen DDR3 2 GB PC10600 1R x 8 PC3 10600U Apologies for mentioning other product here, but you might find it useful; perhaps you'll have a better idea of what might be going on here. Example: I thought the problem was with my motherboard. But with that V-gen memory module running fine, I know that's not the case. I have also upgraded the motherboard's BIOS into the latest version. Could anyone give me any hint / clue / pointers regarding this issue ? Anything at all, I'm currently at loss as to why it doesn't work. Thanks very much in advance. Best regards, Harry
sufehmi
btw; I've ran Memtest on those 2 memory modules, and each failed on the second test / Test #1 : http://www.memtest.org/download/1.55/memtest86+-1.55/README Test 1 (Address test, own address) Each address is written with its own address and then is checked for consistency. In theory previous tests should have caught any memory addressing problems. This test should catch any addressing errors that somehow were not previously detected. Perhaps you'd find this useful. Thanks.
peanutz94
Make sure you have the latest BIOS for your MB .If you do not have it, please flash to the latest version available at the MSI website. Then reret your BIOS and instal just one of the Corsair modules and reboot. If all is well add the second Corsair stick. But do not try adding the third stick from the other vendor. Mixing memory is not a good practice and often leads to instability or issues like this. They are two totally different memories and appears to be clashing with your new memory. Yup, have done this, as mentioned in my first post. Then reret your BIOS and instal just one of the Corsair modules and reboot. If all is well add the second Corsair stick. But do not try adding the third stick from the other vendor. Mixing memory is not a good practice and often leads to instability or issues like this. I tried installing both Corsair sticks. When that didn't work, I tried adjusting the bios setting. When that didn't work either, I tried it with just 1 corsair stick, adjust the bios settings, and so on. When that didn't work too, then I tried putting in than Vgen stick (and it works fine) So yeah, pretty confusing situation here :) at least for me :) Thanks, Harry
