red454
I have two Corsair flash drives, both 32gb USB 3.0. One is a Flash Voyage and the other is a Flash Voyager GT. They work fine on 4 other computers including one laptop. Doesn't matter what port, 2.0 or 3.0, they are recognized immediately and work fine. Now on my ASUS Maximus V Formula motherboard, the GT will only work on the rear ports, and on the front 2.0 port. The 3.0 front port, nothing happens. And the regular Voyager won't work on any ports. These were not cheap flash drives. I have several other cheap flash drives and the darn things work everywhere. One was left in a pocket and made it through my washer and dryer and still works. I changed computer cases thinking the front ports were bad, but I have the same issue. I also notice that when I first plug in the regular Voyager, it tried to install the drivers, said it was unsuccessful, and does nothing when I plug it in now. I also plugged my USB 3.0 external hard drive into the front and rear 3.0 ports, and it works fine. Is there a way to force (install) the flash drive drivers? Xanubius
Did you install all and the newest drivers for your motherboard?
red454
Did you install all and the newest drivers for your motherboard? Yep - from the ASUS site. I wonder if there are "Corsair" drivers specific to the flash drive because any time I plug a new device into a USB port, Windows searches for the drivers for that device. A new mouse, keyboard, flash drive - Windows installs drivers on the first use. I wonder if they are generic or specific to the manufacturer / model. Toasted
Are the drives detected in Windows (Device Manager) when they are plugged in to the front USB 3.0 ports?
red454
Are the drives detected in Windows (Device Manager) when they are plugged in to the front USB 3.0 ports? The GT shows up on the 2.0 port - but nothing on the 3.0 port. Other drives show up on both ports. And nothing on either port for the regular Voyager. Toasted
So when you plug the USB drives in they don't show any activity? e.g. no L.E.D.s? Latest chipset drivers?

Yes - there is a brief flash, as you normally see when they are recognized by other computers. I checked all the devices, etc. for the latest drivers and could find nothing that didn't show the latest was being used.
Toasted
I'd wait for RAM GUY's reply. He might have an idea on whats happening. You can request an RMA to replace the front panel I/O but i'm not sure if that will solve it.
