Netto
When either AUX1 on the back of the subwoofer and/or AUX2 on the control pod are plugged in, regardless of if the other end of the AUX is plugged into anything, the speakers make a buzzing sound. I've tried with multiple AUX cables and checked all the wiring. The speakers work perfectly fine on the computer, and through the AUX. The problem arises when you leave the AUX plugged in and go back to line in mode, the buzzing sound appears, even if the device connected to the AUX is off. Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted March 29, 2013 Corsair Employees Share Posted March 29, 2013 Is it both speakers making a buzzing noise? Have you tried a different outlet, especially at a different location to see if it persists?
Netto
Ah, there is considerably less noise from another outlet, but it is still there. But the noise does increase when an AUX is plugged in, do you know why?
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted April 1, 2013 Corsair Employees Share Posted April 1, 2013 If the other end of the cable isn't plugged to anything, it will make a buzzing noise from contact made to the plug. It shouldn't buzz though if you connect anything to it. As for the lessened noise, it sounds like your outlets may not be grounded very well so dirty power is coming in. Do you have a power conditioner to help with the issue?
ZinnX
Hi I have the same Corsair SP2500 Speaker system and all of the sudden it started buzzing when pluggin into aux1 via standard 3.5mm cable to onboard soundcard or via RCA to 3.5mm splitter cable plugged into AUX1 and after extensive trouble shooting and trying different cables and powering on off, securing cables. Plugging into different devices I finally went to device manager disables both of the High Definition Audio Device under sound, video and game controllers in Windows 7 and uninstalled and checked the box to delete software from computer. I restarted the PC. and reinstalled both of the HD Audio Devices automatically from microsoft. And the buzzing stopped!!! Previously I had one of the devices be a NVIDIA HD Audio Device so I'll try reinstalling that sound driver for the on board sound card of my ASRock Z97 Pro4 Motherboard and let you know if that makes it worse ;) Earlier I had the same problem with the buzzing and just switching to the AUX1 port via 3.5mm cable fixed it, since I started using the speakers initially with the dual RCA to 3.5mm split cable and selecting Input in controller. Good luck to you guys the uninstall of both audio devices worked!
