16gb ram buying 2 packs of CML8GX3M2A1600C9B

Hello,

I have spent the last 2 days studying ddr3 sticks for my ASUS p7p55d EVO Motherboard and I believe i have become pretty RAM-knowledgeable, narrowing my search to a few, being my top choice the model CML8GX3M2A1600C9B

my mother board --> http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/P7P55D_EVO/#specifications

prospective ram CML8GX3M2A1600C9B --> http://www.corsair.com/memory-by-product-family/vengeance/vengeance-low-profile-blue-8gb-dual-channel-ddr3-memory-kit-cml8gx3m2a1600c9b.html

However, I have a final question that I do not seem to find a definite answer on the forums:

If i buy 2 packs of the same model of CML8GX3M2A1600C9B (two packs of 2x4gb totalling 16 gb) will they run at the SPD 1333Mhz 9-9-9-24?

or would it downclock to a even lower SPD, like 1066 8-8-8-22 or even lower :mad:

I am asking this cause I want to be perfectly sure that my 4 sticks will run at 1333Mhz which is perfectly fine to me (I do not need the faster 1600 through XMP that is advertised... - I just need more ram). :laughing:

Thank you in advance for your time!!

Yup, there is just no way to predict how any two random kits will perform. Seriously your best bet is to just order a single 16gig kit . That way you are guaranteed rated speeds and complete compatibility..

Even though they would be two set of the exact same memory it is still considered mixing memory and if you want to be 100% sure they will be stable then don't risk it and just buy a matched 4x4gig kit! And it would need to be a 4x4gig kit. Your board can't use 8gig modules.

thank you for you answer, I didn't think about it cause they don't sell it the 16gb pack here where I live, but I managed to find it on amazon.co.uk - awesome

I am about to buy the ddr3 16gb, but i need to know something more about CML16GX3M4A1600C9B to be 100% sure:

http://www.corsair.com/us/vengeance-low-profile-blue-16gb-dual-channel-ddr3-memory-kit-cml16gx3m4a1600c9b.html

Though the ram tech speed is tested at 1600 Mhz, is it safer to just run it at 1333 Mhz with the stock non-modified SPD speed/latencies?.

I am just asking cause it would be the logical thing that the SPD Speed 1333 Mhz would be more stable than the XMP 1600 Mhz, especially since it would be 4x4gb.

I just wanna make sure I know what I am doing and that I get the facts straight from experts.
