purestone
I am using 2 sticks 4Gb's each of Corsair Vengeance DDR3 CMZ4GX3M1A1600C9. The standard speed is 1333Mhz at 1.5 Volts but are capable of a speed of 1600Mhz. When I changed the speed to 1600Mhz the voltage setting in the BIOS went up to 1.65 is this voltage safe for the memory and for my Cpu and motherboard?? Using- Asus Sabertooth 990FX AMD Phenom 2 965 quad core 3.4 mhz
peanutz94
Yes, for both questions. It is safe. The memory can take up to 2.0v before you would need to be concerned about damaging the memory. And 1.65v is normal for AMD CPU's. As long as the system is stable i wouldn't worry about it.
