I have recently bought IBM X3100 M4 -2582IKA

Machine config:

IBM X3100 M4 -2582IKA - Intel Xeon E3- 1220v2 CPU (Quad Core) 3.1 Ghz 8 Mb 1600 Mhz 1x 4GB RAM, 1x500 GB SATA 7200 RPM 3.5" Simple-Swap HDD, MULTI BURNER RAID 01 in built (SR C100)

Url: http://www-03.ibm.com/systems/in/x/hardware/tower/x3100m4/specs.html

I am looking to upgrade ram on the server, looking for compatible 8gb modules.

Server supports a max 4 x 8GB.

Could not locate this model on Crossair site.

Can some one help me picking up right memory for my server??

Performance is my top priority..

Specs of IBM compatible RAM for reference:

8GB (1x1GB, 2Rx8, 1.5V) PC3-10600 CL9 ECC DDR3 1333MHz LP UDIMM

Thanks for reply, since this is home server i am not looking server grade rams as they very very expensive. This is server supports normal RAMs as well.

Venegance series is easily available in my region can you suggest which should be compatible with this server

I'm sorry but I can't suggest any kit. Maybe RamGuy could. I have read through the product specs and overview and don't see where it can use standard memory.

And since this system is not listed in the memory finder, it means that Corsair has not tested any of their memory in this system. So it may be best to call IBM for a list of suitable kits.

If you are absolutely sure, you could try one of the Vengeance 32 gig kits. But again, since your system is not listed anywhere on the Corsair site, there is no way to give you a 100% sure answer these would work.

Hello agarg09

Did you find compatible memory for your X3100 M4? I have same problem and I would like to know if you finally upgraded your server with 8Gb memory dimm and which memory did you use so I can try it as well.

Thanks in advance

the last ECC DDR3 ram Corsair made was CM72DD2G1333 G which is only a 2 gig stick and has been discontinued.

And since this system is not listed in the memory finder, it means that Corsair has not tested any of their memory in this system. So it may be best to call IBM for a list of suitable kits.
best advice there.
