H80i bracket flimsy?

Hey all, I was just wondering if the install bracket for the new H series is supposed to be flimsy?

What I mean by that is when you mount it to the back and screw it in it's not tight. It can be pushed further in but the screw doesn't go anymore so if you let go it kind of hangs back. That's how it's supposed to be right?

PS: The 4 attached bolts on the bracket are a bit iffy too I think. Three of them move left and right while one is firmly in and can't bolt left right if you twist it.

Is it normal? Thank you.

That is normal. There is no need to use a washer or spacer to compensate for the gap. A little play is expected when putting the backplate and the stand offs. Once you have put on the pump on top of the CPU and put the thumbscrews, you will notice that the thumbscrews will slowly pull back the backplate against the back of the motherboard securing the pump in place and making the backplate steady and intact.

Thanks for the answers you guys!

I also have one more question. I don't know if it's just my OCD but the cooler doesn't look centered on the CPU socket. It looks like it's over a little to the right closer to my ram slots (the tubes touch my ram by the way is that ok?). So I don't know if it's supposed to be like that or something was messed up. It's not supposed to be centered on the socket? I have a pic of it

Notice how it seems closer to the right then directly in line with the socket? The right side of the cooler is sticking out further and doesn't seem proportioned. The yellow line I drew is all that extra space outside of the socket that the left doesn't have.

My temps are about 75ish with my 3770k overclocked to 4.3GHz. So if that's normal I guess everything is fine?

Thank you and sorry if it's a stupid question. I'm a really paranoid and OCD person. The kind that checks her car three times to see if the doors are locked.

The thing I found odd is that the thumbscrews bind the mounting bracket down onto the standoff's shoulder, instead of having a small gap that would indicate that the cooler block is indeed full-force on the CPU surface.

CindyK - that is totally fine, there is no need to worry. As long that the coldplate of the cooler is covering the whole surface of the CPU, then that is all good.

When you secure the pump, you do not have to make the thumbscrews really tight, just enough force to secure the pump and enough that you are making contact with the CPU. Best is just use you finger to tighten them, screw driver could cause over torquing the thumbscrews in some cases.
