Friction
I just bought the H100i and it runs perfectly on my system and have the fans set on Quiet. My CPU (3770K currently at stock of 3.5GHz) is running at 40c. I want to set my fans so that when the temp of the CPU raises, the fans will spin faster to keep the CPU at the same (or close to) temp. Does anyone have a formula they use to calculate such a thing or can give me a run down on how to set it in Link?
Bryman
Ya should be able to in link... I did but then my controller broke anyway I would recommend doing water temp but if you really want to yes you can do processor temp
Friction
Why would it be better to go of the water temp? It can be done in Link using Custom Curve, but I need to know if there is a equation or formula that will make it easy for me to know what RPM to set the fans as the CPU temp rises. Bryman
I would do like 70C 400 rpm higher.. 80C another 200-400 rpm higher 90C another 200-400 C higher and 100-105C max fan speed... Just my opinion though and wow just noticed my typo like 10 hours later...i was typing on my phone lol... i ment to say rpm not 200-400 C higher :P
Bryman
Oh and the CPU throttles at 105C if you didn't know so

Just my opinion though Thanks. For some reason Link won't allow me to set anything higher than 70c, so I set the curve as such: 30c - 1014RPM 40c - 1414RPM 50c - 1750RPM 60c - 2075RPM 70c - 2700RPM I'll see how it goes when I stress it. Bryman
^ i agree with wytnyt now if you REALLY want to make sure the cpu stays cool then ya your option works best...although the cpu can get to 75C easily even with stock at full load so dont know how loud the fans will be..although my fan has been at 100% for almost a week and its not bad...anyways i say go with water temp...as you wont get much benefit with cpu temp... wytnyt
using the cpu as a fan curve is really about the same as spinning the fans all the way up upon starting the load as the load shouldnt change much after initial load
