phanbot
I recently purchased a AX860i and the corsair link cooling and lighting kit. After installing everything in the case and checking all the cables I attempted to boot up my system which failed. I have a Asus Sabertooth Z77 motherboard and i7 3770k processor. The motherboard has a green led that lights letting me know it is getting power but system refuses to boot up. I tried the self test button on the AX860i and it doesn't light up at all Just to make sure it wasn't the motherboard, I also swapped in a Asus Maximus V Gene motherboard from my other SFF linux box to see if it was the Sabertooth that was the culprit, the start and reset buttons both lit up when connected to the psu but it failed to boot up, no fan spin or anything. So can I assume the psu is faulty and deserves an RMA? This the first time I've ever had problems with a brand new psu. I'm using the sleeved cables from corsair's web store. I'm using the stock 24 pin cable though and have the corsair link connected to the case fans along with the psu's corsair link dongle connected to a usb connnector on the motherboard. Any ideas on a fix would be greatly appreciated.
phanbot
Just swapped psu's without changing any other components and system booted up fine. With nothing connected to the AX860i the psu self test lights up green. Now I have to test each of the sleeved cables to see if one of them is the culprit or just stick with the stock cables that came with the AX860i. FreeMason
This PSU is having issues with a lot of Motherboards! I have the same issue with a Gigabyte Z87X-OC!
peanutz94
This PSU is having issues with a lot of Motherboards! I have the same issue with a Gigabyte Z87X-OC! No more than any other PSU out there. Guys this is a support forum and this is all your going to see. Corsair sells upwards of 150,000PSU's monthly. So that makes the issue rather small. What i find funny is the only thing that has really changed in the way of hardware is MB/CPU's. And these system with their super low power sleep states are wreaking havoc on all kinds of PSU's. Not just Corsair's. Just visit their forums to see it first hand. But why is it the PSU gets the blame and it's never the MB/CPU manufacturers components at fault. These PSU's were out long before those boards were. @phanbot Just swapped psu's without changing any other components and system booted up fine. With nothing connected to the AX860i the psu self test lights up green. Now I have to test each of the sleeved cables to see if one of them is the culprit or just stick with the stock cables that came with the AX860i. Was the other PSu a different brand or another 860I? Sorry, i just wanted to be sure. Or the same PSU with the stock cables instead of the sleeved ones?
