kanmapoo
hello, I just installed my h100i, and had a big problem which nobody never spoke of, so I hope I made a mistake, and you will tell me what it was. I pluged the 1 wire pin in the cpu fan of my gigabyte x79 ud3 and at the first boot the motherboard didn't even lit up. without any diag (because my pc stayed off), I tried to unplug the 1 wire pin, and plugged a real fan 3 pins wich was on the case, and it worked!! Can anyone explain me why there is a 1 pin (with the sata power) wich is not working, and why isn't it a 3 wires pin, as it is indicated on the user manual? Or did I do anything wrong? thanks for your expertise
madmecca1975
That is for the pump plug it to CPU fan header and also plug in sata into sata cable
Speed
The single wire is only to report pump RPM. Power comes from SATA power connector.
kanmapoo
thanks for the quick answers! But I was not precise enough. I pluged the sata power in a sata cable of the psu, and the 1 pin is supposed make the motherboard think that there is a cpu fan. but, 1 wire is not enough to do the job, so nothing works! the mobo doesn't find a cpu fan, so it didn't lit up, until I pluged another fan on the mobo cpu fan. So, my questions are: why did Corsair put this unusefull 1 wire pin? And why is there a 3 wire pin in the manual? How can you fool the mobo with only one pin? Daftman
Have you tried looking into the BIOS settings? Could be there is a setting that the mobo does not run without a certain value. Hope you'll find it.
kanmapoo
Unfortunately, it was my first install, so I couldn't change bios values before the boot :)
madmecca1975
Put a fan on CPU fan header and plug pump one on ordenary fan header and see if you can get in bios that way
