Jnilsen
I recently built a new rig last December with this power supply http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139010&Tpk=hx750&IsVirtualParent=1 It had been working fine until recently I noticed a "rattling" or "grinding" noise when the fan spins down. It has started getting worse because now the noise will sometimes continue when the fan is running at lower idling speeds. I have the power supply mounted facing down so the fan can pull air through the bottom of the case. I have not attempted to reorient the unit to see if the noise occurs in different positions. The noise can be clearly heard over all the other fans in my case. If I should need to RMA this unit, I'm in a difficult situation. I originally bought the unit in the US, but I now live in Japan. Is it still possible to RMA my unit from Japan and get a replacement sent to me here? I don't have any other power supply to use while waiting for the new one, either. Is there a way to get the replacement before I RMA the faulty one? Also, when applying for an RMA I'm confused which I product name to choose because there's an HX750 and HX750 Gold. Which one should I choose? Thank you.

Since you are in Japan you can instal and use SKYPE to make the call for nothing. You can find the number on the main website page at the bottom under company>contact. Just don't forget the time difference!;):
B3ndix
Hi, I use an HX850 Gold in my gaming rig and when the fan stops after spinning up to cool the PSU down it makes a strange rattling nose, like it is hitting something. When the fan is spinning it just sounds normal, no noise at idling speed. I also have the HX mounted facing down, but I can hear the sound also in other positions. I don't know it is the same noise as you are experiencing. Here is an example: http://youtu.be/h5YjAHyjR1k Is this normal? Regards, Bendix
