Cmanico
The past few days I've had the problem of Cl 2 somehow enabling OCP in the power tab, no problem uncheck the boxes after restart. Till this morning when apparently Cl enabled OCP on a rail and set the sliders lol the way down. So my PC boots and shuts down before I can uncheck the OCP , I was forced to start in safe mode and uninstall Cl 2. No matter how many times I've saved the profiles it's still enables OCP software should not ever make changes to itself.
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted March 28, 2013 Corsair Employees Share Posted March 28, 2013 What version of the SW are you using 2.2 or 2.3? If you coming from 2.2 version, you may want to make sure to delete profiles create by link under /user/app data/roaming/corsair before doing a fresh install. Cmanico
2.3, originally it was 2.2, I've uninstalled and reinstalled , it worked fine for a few days, and CL went back to enabling OCP on multiple PCI-e and my system ends up shutting down just as I hit the deskptop. Restarted in safe mode and uninstalled Corsair link. Since getting my ax860i and installing CL, versions 2.2 or 2.3, I've never enabled OCP, so my question is, How exactly is this software enabling OCP on its own? Since I uninstalled CL my system has been rock solid stable. I upgraded from the a 1 year old Corsair AX850 to this newer AX860i, and Upgraded my Coolermaster V6gt to the h100i, my biggest selling point for both was the notion that I'd be able to use Corsair link with both , which now at ths point I can't use at all. which makes me regret upgrading my perfectly good ax850 to this ax860i as it's funtiaonality are basically the same because of flawed software. And while off topic in this thread, I still have the same noise from my h100i even after recieving new 4pin fans. Slight buzzing noise from the pump, and whirring noise from the fans. at this point I've set the fans to quiet(not so much) prior to my OCP shut down problems and left em at that. Apparently I'll have to come out of pocket another 40 bucks for fans that don't whir ,on top of the premium price I've already paid for what was sapposed to be a high end product. But will still be left with no Corsair link functionality.
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted May 9, 2013 Corsair Employees Share Posted May 9, 2013 There may be something wrong with the monitoring portion of the PSU, from what you posted what happens if you just load the software and do not change any of the settings for OCP does it still that after you reboot a few times? Cmanico
that's the thing sinse having the PSU/h100I and corsair link 2 software, I have NEVER enabled any OCP, the computer shut down on me 2 times in a row randomly one day, first thing I checked was CPU/GPU temps, they were OK, checked all my fans, then on a hunch I checked COrsair link, Power tab, and like 5 of the pci-e rails had the OCP box checked to enable. which isn't the total problem, the main problem is that it sets the rail from 40 down to 0, which ends up tripping the OCP, and the shut downs. Never happened with 2.2, only 2.3, and it was very random. At this point I've reinstalled Corsair link 2 but instead of having it start with windows, i start it when i want, as to avoid the shut down loop, some times i can't get into the power tab fast enough to untick all the OCP before it shuts down. Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted May 9, 2013 Corsair Employees Share Posted May 9, 2013 You have mentioned that you are also using an H100i cooler, do you have the PSU connected directly to the USB header on the motherboard or do you have it piggyback to the cooler? I am curious if that will make a difference if you have it connected the other way.
Cmanico
I"m not using the USB dongle to connect to the motherboard USB header, I have the AX860i plugged directly into the h100i.
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted May 9, 2013 Corsair Employees Share Posted May 9, 2013 Does it also trip the OCP when you have the PSU connected directly to the MB? I know that it sounds like SW is acting on its own or somehow dodgy but I just wanted to make sure that it happens on both configuration.
Cmanico
I've never actually tried it with the USB dongle, since day one, I've had the PSU hooked to the h100i.
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted May 9, 2013 Corsair Employees Share Posted May 9, 2013 Can you try it with just the PSU connected directly to the C-Link USB module to be sure its not something with the cooler?
Cmanico
Sure ill dig out my psi box tonight and hook the psu up to the USB dongle.
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted May 10, 2013 Corsair Employees Share Posted May 10, 2013 Alright, thanks. Please keep me posted if that changes anything.
AdamTrans
Same thing is happening to me except Im able to uncheck the boxes when cl loads. And I got my AX860i hooked up to the commander unit. Its really annoying....
Cmanico
Cl doesn't see my ax860i when using the dongle with it connected to the motherboard header. It recognized it when I installed and installed the driver for it but Cl doesn't show a power tab or in devices. As soon as I hooked it back up to the h100i it's back . I reinstalled windows and Cl so ill see how link and my psu react together
Cmanico
At this point I don't have Cl starting with windows, trying to avoid a reboot cycle if nd apparently when it's going to happen again. Since the windows reinstal CL has been fine, up till this moring when i started CL, and one of the OCP boxes were ticked, as well as other slideres turned all the way down to 0. so it seems at some point CL is going to enable OCP on one of the rails thats set to 0, apon where the PSU will shut it self off. http://i1058.photobucket.com/albums/t412/Christian_Manico/Capture-1.png
Cmanico
Just updated to the new BETA CL, and apon inspecting the power tab I see that the OCP sliders now bottom out at 20 instead of 0, I think this may very well solve my problem, atleast part of it, I'll post back to keep updated. Need to see if CL still tries to enable OCP at all.
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted May 21, 2013 Corsair Employees Share Posted May 21, 2013 Yes it should solve that issue and please do let us know.
Cmanico
It's been enabling 2 OCP but beacause of the change to a minimum of 20 amps I've gotten no random shut downs
