H100i Pump RPM question

Hi all,

What's the best and most acurate method to monitor the pump's rpm? I get different readings from my bios compared to the Link software.

Bios reports ~2300rpm and Link ~2190rpm. Which one is right?

Also, if 2300rpm is correct, isn't it a bit too fast for the pump? My 12v rail reads 12.196v.

I have the latest firmware 1.0.5 & latest Link2 software and can hear a tiny grinding noise, not as bad as some have reported but I can hear it in a very quiet environment, type hdd noise. Is this normal for these units? I mean, can a pump be noiseless? Even if you stick your ear on it??

Thx

2190 sounds about right for its speed mine does about 2150. Mine makes a slight noise very quiet I take it as being normal as it moving parts don't think it would be possible to have it completely noise less

I was having a problem with the fans speeding up and back to normal, but it wasn't the unit at all, I had a bad stick of RAM.

All right, I guess it can't be noiseless then, my computer is very quiet and I still can hear some HDD type grinding noise coming from the rad. A bit annoying.

How do you have your fans mounted? A number of people, myself included, have reported grinding noises from the new PWM fans when they were not mounted horizontally as intake.
