xclock
ok i think i got the answer when i look at the fans operates at 12v. so must it has to go through sata power cable from the power supply or just 2 pins is sufficient as +,- 12v. Not quite sure what your asking or actually why. Are you trying to bypass the SATA connector somehow?
xclock
Not quite sure what your asking or actually why. Are you trying to bypass the SATA connector somehow? sorry about my bad engligh. yes wanted to bypass the SATA connector as i dont have enough space in my case for extra power cable for H100i. so i wanted to power it from the motherboard fan header
peanutz94
I wouldn't because the pump will exceed the amperage rating of most MB fan headers. If you have unused molex connectors on your PSU it would be best to either get an adapter cable or a slitter off of some other peripheral. Another other modification of the wiring will void your warranty too!

peanutz94
You can try what you like but as i stated before the pump will use more amperage than the MB header can handle. It's not about voltage. If you don't mind taking the chance of burning up a MB and voiding your warranty on your cooler ,go for it. But i would suggest you use a meter to determine what voltage the pins you pan on using supply what voltage...good luck!
xclock
i am not going to try that. it was just thinking that idea. any how thanks for clarification. :)

G50EED
The SATA power cable connects to your PSU (Power Supply) not to the motherboard. It's the same connector your Optical Drives, HDDs or SSDs are using. Most SATA cables have 2-4 connectors on them, you should check your existing cables. You might already have a connector available. Latharion
You can also get a Molex to SATA converter (available with many HDDs if bought in a retail kit). These convert the standard 4-pin Molex power connector to a SATA power connector.
