smitty333
Hello Just tried installing the new h80i and had some difficulties with the proper orientation on the part that sits on the processor. I couldn't get it on where the corsair logo would be horizontal as the tubes would push out against the side of the case, so I installed 90 deg clockwise with the tubes not on the top, will this cause a problem with the coolant getting in and out? Secondly, as I needed to re-orientate, the thermal paste got smeared. In corsair link software, the H80 temp is reading around 26 C and the processor is 36 C. Is this 10 degree difference between the H80 and processor normal, or should they be closer to the same, meaning I need to reapply the thermal paste? Thanks

It's a sealed unit so it will wok in just about any orientation. Secondly, as I needed to re-orientate, the thermal paste got smeared. You always replace thermal paste anytime you remove your heatsink. This way you make sure it smears the way it should and you get good even coverage over the CPU. But the temp difference is normal because the temp of the H80 is the temp of the coolant and not the CPU.
smitty333
Thanks. I'll re-apply the paste and see if it changes the difference between coolant and processor temp.
blueloogann
Good morning peanutz94 am with this doubt I also own a Amd fx 8350 with H80i as friend smitty333 noticed a difference between the temperatures in My H80i. The Corsair Link H80i mark the 28 C and 12 C nucleus and AIDA64 shows the processor with 30 C. I then decided to run the prime 95 in Torture test, and I found that strange and temperature H80i Season 1 goes to 36 C in the core is 34 C and the CPU goes to 51 C. this temperature difference being the H80i temp 1 and processor and normal?
