Djarums
Hello RAM People! Please Try to follow along with this ^_^ I recently sent in some Dominator RAM that had gone bad, here is the item and specs. CORSAIR DOMINATOR 6GB (3 x 2GB)Model TR3X6G1600C8DTiming 8-8-8-24 Cas Latency 8 Voltage 1.65V ------------------------------------------------------ What was offered to replace those broken Dominators were, TR3X6G1600C9 G Timing 9-9-9-24 Cas Latency 9 Voltage 1.65V The other set of RAM I have in my machine are 88824 and Still Dominators, I did not want to mix Dominator and Vengeance around, essp with different timings and Cas Lat. So I immediately let them know this would not work. Next Corsair asked what other set of Dominators I had in my machine. ----------------------------------------------------------- Corsair Dominator 6GB (3x2GB) (CMP6GX3M3A1600C8) 1600MHz 8-8-8-24 1.65V with Intel XMP support I purchased these because when I looked for upgrades to my 2010 Dominators, all links lead to the (CMP6GX3M3A1600C8). They worked like a charm in my machine with older set. All in all, Corsair then offered me to return both kits of Dominators to us, I can request your replacement to be 1x (3x4GB Vengeance at 2000mhz) 10-10-10-27. I said "Great! If they work on my old Mobo" ... and so far since I've had them I got them to boot 1 time, which then just shut off during a W8 session, many many non boots, with different XMP profiles. Set at 1333 or 1600 , the RAM still was not stable enough to boot with. I do not think they will work with an old Asus Rampage III Gene motherboard, I took a look at the Cosair ram selector by motherboard and my GeneIII wasn't even listed ;x So, I dont really know what to do. Is there a 3x4 Dominator kit that they can give me to replace the 3 old ram, and 3 brand new ram kit I bought. Or 2 3x2 kits... /so confused. Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted March 18, 2013 Corsair Employees Share Posted March 18, 2013 Have you tried testing the new modules one at a time? Or have you tried resetting the MB BIOS with the new modules installed? If not I would strongly suggest doing that to start with. I have asked our customer service to replace these modules so they should be contacting you shortly, but it may be best for you to call them by phone. I have asked our customer service to replace these modules so they should be contacting you shortly, but it may be best for you to call them by phone. Indeed, I have tried 1 at a time, in a different channel. And I get the same results. my video card fan goes to 100% speed indicating a failed boot, my DRAM LED stays on and the only way to get back into the PC is resetting the CMOS. I will give Tech Support a call and mention your post. hopefully they can help me out. Here is a bit from my Motherboard's manual that deals with compatible memory. 6 x DIMM, Max. 24GB, DDR3 2200(O.C.)/2133(O.C.)/2000(O.C.)/1800(O.C.)/1600/1333/1066 Hz Non-ECC, Un-buffered Memory Triple Channel Memory Architecture Supports Intel® Extreme Memory Profile (XMP) * Hyper DIMM support is subject to the physical characteristics of individual CPUs. * Refer to http://www.asus.com or user manual for the Memory QVL (Qualified Vendors Lists).
