Need replacement cable, AX1200 24-pin, but where?

Have AX1200, and long story short, I need a replacement for the 24-pin Mobo cable. The 12v line at the end that goes into the mobo is burnt due to overdrawing current (thanks to my overlooking the 4-pin Molex for extra 12v/5v supply I was supposed to use in addition to it, duh).

To its credit, though, it lasted two years before giving out.

This is most definitely NOT covered by warranty and I'm happy to pay.

Corsair site shows a great-looking $20 replacement, several colors, but all of them are out of stock.

Can someone point me to... well, anywhere that I can at least order it today?

Thanks in advance.

just use the RMA link on the left and tell them your cable is bad and they will send you a new one. I have a ax1200 and my 24pin cable had 2 loose pins that always popped out and Corsair had a new cable too me in 3days at no cost too me.

Appreciate the tip, but this is "customer stupidity" (my own, lol) and not Corsair's fault.

It's still under warranty, yes, but this type of damage isn't covered (and quite rightly so) according to the main website.

Was hoping someone would have a link to in-stock replacements yesterday or today, but.... I can call Corsair on Monday.

Thanks, though. :)

EDIT: I filed an RMA anyway, but specified this was my fault and asked for a replacement. We'll see what happens. Appreciate the help so far.

I noticed the same thing re: colors.

Got an RMA number assigned and they want me to ship the whole unit back as they say the PSU should have shut down, not burned the wire, and want to be certain nothing ELSE is wrong.

I do appreciate that they're willing to do that for the whole unit, and do agree with the point raised (hadn't thought of that myself) however.......

I called Customer Service this morning, but got transferred to Tech Support..... then got a voice mail that they're too busy and please leave a callback number. Ermm... 30 minutes after opening for the day, they're "too busy"?

Standing by for a callback, hope the response is today before shipping cutoff time.

And thanks to all who've helped, it's appreciated.

I believe it's just a generic pic used for the site. But if they want you to have the PSU replaced I would take them up on it.

Yeah, they have been swamped lately for a few reasons. And on Monday they are always busy just catching up from the weekends and users in the same position as you are.

If you don't hear back in 30 mins , call them back .It's not going to hurt anything. And since they are going to replace the PSu , you could always ask for an advanced replacement so your not out a system for too long. Couple of days VS a couple of weeks.

  • 2 weeks later...

Unit arrived, swapped it out and all is well. Sending the bad unit back tomorrow.

One thing I discovered, for anyone who stumbles across this.... the cables between the 1200 and 1200i are not interchangeable. Had to replace every one of them. But... end result was worth it.
