Bazgrim
So, I recently reported an RMA for crackling on my Vengeance 2000 headset. However.... The crackling stopped after doing the following. I plugged my vengeance 2000 into my PS3. Then remembering it doesn't work on the PS3. Unplugged it. I plugged it back into the same USB 2.0 port on the back of the motherboard. However, the headset was cutting in and out of sound. As if the signal was getting interrupted. I tried several other USB 2.0 ports on my motherboard. Same thing. HOWEVER! By plugging it into the USB 3.0 port on the back of my motherboard the cutting out stopped and so did the crackling in my headset. Which is odd, because when I plugged it into the USB 3.0 port on Windows 7 the headset wouldn't function at all. I am running Windows 8 Pro 64-bit with an ASUS Sabertooth 990FX 2.0 Motherboard. Running the latest Vengeance 2000 drivers. Just a helpful tip if someone else is experiencing the same issues with the crackling and popping when upgrading to Windows 8. Try your USB 3.0 port. Needless to say, I won't be needing that RMA anymore. :)
