Weird noise, dont seem to happen to others.

So ive gotten this TX650 for my new "sweetspot" build. I have always used corsair and I normally always try to get corsair in all slots possible.

But now for the first time, i have a really annoying issue, I am usually good with computers, know my way around them and is educating to become a computer tecnichian, but I now stompled upon a sound, that I have never heard before!

Id like to point out, that the whole system is running, without problems. I have tryed while the computer have been powered on and the weird sound have been going on, to manually stop every single fan to see if it was a fan. I must admit i do not 100% know if it is the PSU. but im about 90% sure that it is, as i cannot imagine any other part making that kind of sound, also, by making a simple ear to open tower, the sound is "louder" when i have my hear around the PSU than at any other places.

I have made a recording on my phone, should be possible to just play the mp3 without downloading anything, from this link which i uploaded my recordings too:

http://www.bigupload.com/en/file/83316/stemme0002.mp3.html

its like a fast clicking/beep sound, might have to turn up abit to hear it.

Sorry for my english, I am from Denmark so not my native language.

Really hope that its possible to get some help, as it would be very annoying have to replace more parts if this will damage more of my system!!

Best Regards

A big Corsair fan!

So theres no one with a opinion, I am desperat to get my pc fully functioning without any weird noise or future of disaster!

Please just give some conclussions on what it can be!!

I have stoppede every single fan in the pc one by one while the sound have been on(its mainly only on when theres actually alittle load..) still cant seem to find out why!!

Could the fan be stalling?

I think that these forums can move slowly at times, especially with it still being quite early in the USA.

As for isolating the issue to your PSU, take it out of your machine and jump-start it using the info in the sticky above (paper-clip method). Have a listen with it in your hand and sitting on a desk (don't block the intake for any length of time). This will help ID if it is the PSU itself, the PSU causing some sort of vibration in your case or something else entirely.

Alright! :)

Well problem is, the sound is Not constant, forexample just got home from work and sitting with my machine right now.

Did a furmark + prime95 to try stress the psu, and been playing some games. So far the sound have not been here..

Problem is, as im not sure what exactly it is, i cannot stress the computer in the right way. I belive its a long term thing then.

although i did stress the psu enough to start the fan(for atleast few spins and stops never to the extend where it would really go cooler mode.) It was enough to state that its not the fan on the psu either.

Coffee should have started the system now! :D

I still got this problem.. it seems that it just kinda takes some time after i turn on the pc to build up.. and it seems to happen when im doing more than just browsing. I belive it might be when the psu sends power to the gfxcard maybe?

Now bios is flashed, ssd firmware updated etc.

Time for bed, then work and another whole day trying to figure out what the heck is wrong.. This is time consumeing as hell, and rather annoying that theres no reaction on forums!

I have completely isolated the noise to be comming from the PSU, by pretty much disconnecting everything.

It seems to first come after longer uptime of the pc. And it is for certain not the fan spinning into something, since it spins when needed without making a sound.

I have no big expirience with changeing settings in bios, and therefor I have choosen not to touch anything. I must state that I see it wrong if i need to change something in bios to get my payed product to be working like another normal working psu.

My own guess is that it might be delivering wrong voltage. I do not have the option to try putting in another gfx card etc. which again seems weird that all this is put on my shoulders. I have specificly located the weird ticks to come from the psu so thats where the problem is and seems I have to rma it as it looks to me no one have any idea whats wrong.

The added link with the noise is not enough to determine what it could be?

Sorry to hear that. If you are within the return policy of your reseller then my suggestion is to get the unit replaced through them and take advantage of their return policy, it's probably faster and free shipping to send back, otherwise you can process this via our RMA process. Please use the link on the left to submit an RMA request.

Thanks for the response RAM GUY! I have just been in contact with the place I bought the PSU from, and the way we could do it would be to do a rma case on the "broken" psu and then i should demand to just get money back. that way i could just order a new one now and wait with sending in the broken psu till i have a new one..

One question then, which would be a good cpu to buy right now? for my system? is the hx models better than the TX models? (I have no intention of buying another brand)

If your re seller can do it that way, why not. It's probably quicker if you go this route.

Technically, HX is a higher tier PSU vs the TX because of some key features, like the 80 Plus cert. HX is gold and TX is bronze to and the # of cable you can attach to. Overall, HX is an improve version of TX in and out.
