aeronics
I have been using my H80 but few days ago my motherboard alarmed me that the "CPU fan not working". When i take a look at the connections i saw that the 3 pin header is connected to CPU fan and the pump is connected to the molex. Pump is working but motherboard can't read it. I changed the 3 pin socket to another fan connection on motherboard but i saw that there is no response. Also one of the fan connected to pump is not working. Other fan is working and the profile button can control the speed of the second fan. i tried the firmware reset process (described in Arctic_Wolf's message in http://forum.corsair.com/v3/showthread.php?t=105355) but nothing changed. Any suggestions?
peanutz94
Pump is working but motherboard can't read it. If your BIOS is reading 0 then the pump is not working. Can i ask why you think it's working but can't be seen. Just trying to get some clarification on this. Having one of the fans fail shouldn't cause that. I believe your going to have to RMA your unit, unless i mis-understood something.

Just trying to get some clarification on this. If it would not be working the tempature of the CPU would increase in time. I think this means that the pump is working but the tachometer sensor is not working so that the BIOS can not read the pump speed. I made the unit work out of my case and i can feel the vibration when i touch the pump and hear the sound of the pump. Something doesn't sound right. BIOS is reading the tachometer signal coming from the pump. In my case there are 2 problems. First one is there is no tachometer signal so BIOS reading '0' and giving alarm. And the second one is about one of the radiator fan is not working. Problem is on the pump unit because the fans working when i connect them to the working socket on the pump unit. I think the fan controller in the pump has problem but i wanted to be sure about my problem.

Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted March 19, 2013 Corsair Employees Share Posted March 19, 2013 Try moving the pump connector (tach sensor) to a different fan header and see if get a reading, just ignore the CPU_fan header for now. If you know for sure the pump is working and just no signal from it, what CPU temps are you getting?
aeronics
Try moving the pump connector (tach sensor) to a different fan header and see if get a reading, just ignore the CPU_fan header for now. If you know for sure the pump is working and just no signal from it, what CPU temps are you getting? I moved the pump's connector to another fan header. It shows "0" again. Then i connected another fan to cpu fan header and it reads the fan speed. CPU tempature is changing between 31-34 Celcius degree. These values make me think that the pump is working. Also i have another problem. One of the fan socket of the pump is not working. I connected the two fans to the pump. First fan spins but the second one doesn't work. I replaced fan connectors but this time second one spins but the first one doesn't work.
TempusFugit
This pretty much describes my problem too. I have had my H80 since 09/12 and it has performed well. Running prime95 torture test with temps well below 60C. Then yesterday I had a warning from bios for no CPU fan. When i checked the H80 exchanger fans were not rotating, the lights on the pump block were not longer lighting up. I watched the temperatures rise in the bios to 36C, I normally idle at 20C to 25C, but didn't want to start windows without cooling. I removed the unit and installed the stock cooler. I did some further testing on a spare PSU and motherboard and confirmed the previous findings. I also attempted the reset procedure on the pump. Its possible my cpu block impeller is still pumping, but the unit rpm, fans and lights are not. When i held the unit head in my hand connected to the testbed, i thought I could feel a mild vibration and gyroscopic inertial resistance to rotation. I have raised a ticket/RMA request. I was satisfied with it up to this point. Case No: 5763735 CWCH80
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted March 25, 2013 Corsair Employees Share Posted March 25, 2013 aeronics - Looks like you will need to get that cooler replaced. Use the link on the left and start an RMA process and we'll take it from there. Tempus - Looks like your RMA has already been approved.
TempusFugit
Just update. I received my replacement cooler today, it was an upgrade to the h80i. All set up and running great, very pleased with the quick delivery considering it was the weekend. The H80i seems quieter, the cooling block looks...well, cool... and the fans seems to be a better quality. Can still be a little tricky to mount on my AMD FX-8150, difficult to see how well its lined up, but an initial run of prime95 seems good. ::pirate::
