SSD Temp!

Seem to work great. LED is set to black at all 3 Temps, you may need to configure this.

Everything working here on the first look.

Ramguy, you might get something pass to the developers? With my SSD (a Samsung Pro 840) i get the temp out of smart as difference from 100 deg. So in Link2 it show up 74 deg. The truth would be 100-74. Maybe they can introduce this in a future release?

Dunno if your SSDs do the same, but i guess they will...

Thanks for the great work. I got not any problem with installing it...

Regards,

Andreas

That is not usually caused by the drives firmware. IE with many of our SSD's we have health monitoring disabled so you may get an abnormal temp reading.

But I will report it to our software team.

The temp is true, as long you consider is something like tjmax on processors.

I think they do a similar reading on SSDs. If i do 100- the reported 74 deg i get

to 26 deg C, what seems to be very true.

Even Link2 say "Samsung Drive Difference from 100" as Modelname.

CrystalDisk go to the same temp (26 deg) and i believe even the samsung software report this. Maybe they dont report the temp of the board itself, more the temp of the controllerprocessor, so considering it is kinda distance to anything like tjmax wont be wrong.. :)

Thanky! :)

Well, i have also a similar issue with the new version of the Link software.

It shows my Scandisk SSD at 128 degrees on the system page but it's not showing my other two sata hdd's, yet they're listed on the devices page.

Any idea's ?

Most likely your SSD does not even have a temp sensor. In addition to that, when SSDs do not have temp sensors, they do still report a SMART value for that sensor. So, in your situation, the SSD vendor needs to have a static value reported for temps so that it does not confuse SMART monitoring.

  • 7 months later...

I have a new corsair ssd FORCELS sata3 of 60Gb installed in my computer.

when i look up the temp he gives a value of 99°.

when i instal my camera software (mirasys) the watchdog of this software shuts down my computer after 30sec because the temp of the hard drive is to high.

The value of 99° is not right i think, is their a fix or a wordaround to solve this problem?

thanks
