Werner Volkmann
Hi Ram Guy, I think I have made a compatability mistake with my ram for a new build PC. I have an ASRock Z75 Pro 3 motherboard. I have 8 gb of corsair ram: CMX8GX3M2A1600C9. The system is very unstable, with repeated crashes and freezes, even in the BIOS. The system can't get through more than about 5 minutes of the OCCT CPU test. I ran Memtest86+ with no failures found. I have monitored temperatures, and found no problems. I looked onto the ASRock website and the motherboard does not appear to be compatible with this ram. Does this explain the instability of the system? Many thanks in advance, WV

Does this explain the instability of the system? No, Not necessarily! Thats just a list of module that have been tested at the time the MB was made and does not reflect newer modules because they very rarely if ever update those. Have you updated the BIOS? And are you using XMP if available or setting them manually? If setting them manually are you making sure to set the voltage correctly too? Those will require 1.65v at 1600mhz.
