CMZ16GX3M2A1600C10 on Asus Sabertooth 990FX R2.0?

Hi There--This is my first Corsair post.,

This is a pre-build question (but I have all of my hardware to build it).

On Amazon.com I got a "Commonly bought together" deal and I noticed that the RAM isn't listed in the Asus user guide for the motherboard included in the deal. So this halted me from even powering up the chip/board/ram combo yet. The chip shouldn't be a problem, but the RAM MIGHT BE.

My question is whether or not Corsair's:

Vengeance 16GB (2x8GB) DDR3 1600 MHz (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory (CMZ16GX3M2A1600C10)

will work with the:

ASUS SABERTOOTH 990FX R2.0 AM3+ AMD 990FX SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX AMD Motherboard without effing something up despite NOT BEING listed in the mobo's user manual. AND IF SO--is there a specific way I have to arrange the RAM?

The chip is an: AMD FX-8350 FX-Series Eight-Core Processor Edition, Black AM3 FD8350FRHKBOX

I apologize if this message watermarks all of my hardware already..

Thanks for any and all feedback!

Hi phlipside

Vengeance 16GB (2x8GB) DDR3 1600 MHz (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory (CMZ16GX3M2A1600C10) will not be the best choice for ASUS SABERTOOTH 990FX .

R2.0

CMX16GX3M4A1600C9 is a bether shoice , as CMX8GX3M2A1333C9 and it the same type ove chips on memory modual and it worck at the same voltage 1.65v.

Dont forget to update motherboard bios to last update. As it improve compatibility and stability ove system and memory compatibility!!!! Last Version is 1503.

Yes, they are compatible and should run fine on that MB. Just keep in mind AMD's memory speed limitations with that combo.

AND IF SO--is there a specific way I have to arrange the RAM?

Just install them as suggested by your Mb manual.

ASUS's QVL is just a list of modules that were tested at the time of pre-production and are never updated to reflect newer modules. So just because a certain set doesn't appear on those lists does not mean it's not compatible. Also keep in mind that the "Commonly purchased together" mean nothing also. If two people bought that same ram and Mb off the same site then a computer would show those as a match and should not be trusted.

What are you talking about? He didn't ask about the Dominator series. Besides it would

make NO difference. Either kit would work , but one is no better than the other. The Vengeance series would just fine and runs at 1.5v as opposed to the 1.65v dominators. The dominators also do not use same chips as the Vengeance series. Where did you get this information Turbo?
