Noctua NF-F12 PWM 120mm Fan

Hello,

I've recently installed new h100i that came insetad of older h100 that I RMA-ed.

Btw thanks too corsair support, whole process for painless.

Anyway, I'm lucky as there are no bad sounds or any other problems everything works fine, but I was thinking to replace h100i stock fans with noctua nf-12 PWM fans, and I was also thinking to replace those 3 case coolers in my 800d case with noctua fans as well.

First question is does noctua nf-12 pwm works fine with corsair link (ver 2.2.0., firmware 1.0.4)

And if replacing other 3 fans from 800d would be a bit overkill.

Haven't really started case only without h100i fans to check their sound alone soo....

Any tips welcomed. Thanks.

actually I haven't even checked was in hurry to install h100i as soon as poss :)

only after I heard that these are a bit loud I started looking for another fan solution and came across these that got a lot of positive reviews.

Also ther eare 2 hd7970 cards in crossfire as well si I'm thinking that new fans could maybe push a bit more air in....

maybe reversing bottom fan to pull air out and get fresh air form top.

So radiator fans and that up back fan to pull in air, and on the bottom to reverse fans or add more to push it out.

Still just thinking ofc.. everything works pretty good right now as well but i would love to try and get more cool air over graphic cards as well and take their hot air out from them.

In that photo, the wires from those fans have only three wires, so they look like the older fan, not the PWM fan.

Honestly I cannot say about running the NF-F12's from the h100i itself, as I have them routed behind the motherboard and then to the CPU header (2 fans, to y-splitter to speed reducer, to extension, to cpu fan header). The fans are silent, and run at about 700 rpm which lets me hold my cpu (3570k@4.2ghz) and of course, the motherboard is more than able to ramp up the speed if it is really needed.

The NF-F12s are fantastic fans, so long as you don't object to the colour

  • 2 weeks later...

aaand my noctuas arived.

installed and I'm so happy!

can easily advise everyone to put them. full performance they are spinning at 1400rpm and getting better temps at 4.6Ghz full load CPU than with stock fans at 4.5Ghz spining at 2500rpm and sound diference is sooo huge...

now just to figure out if there is way to replace case fans with noctuas as well.. they are a bit bigger so I guess that is not really possible?

aaalso I was planing to add 2rd noctua on top intalke (2 pulling air in over radiator from top intake on obsidian 800d. But radiator actualy covered holes for screws on 3rd hole so can;t really add 3rd one.... any ideas?

or maybe just get two of these in pussh and have push pull on top getting outside air to inside...

will test out gotta run but for first test I'm more than happy.

h100i is cooling GREAT and now in pair with noctuas f12... goodnes!!!

sry for type gotta run wife already calling twice.. hehe cathc you
