POLARHINO
I just fired up my new build with the H60 on an I5 3570K... + noticed what is best described as a 'Chirping' noise. I actually thought it was a bird outside my window when I first heard it... then I realized it's coming from the H60. It's intermittent and sounds like the noise a car waterpump makes when it's getting ready to self-destruct. The unit seems to be working fine with idle temps around 20-30 with a 4.4 OC. I found threads regarding "Buzzing" + "Grinding" noises, but nothing that seems to match my sound. Is this noise 'normal' + possibly due to some air in the system... or is it a potential problem. I thought I'd better ask and possibly avoid frying a brand new CPU. Thanks in advance... Rick / Canada
wytnyt
you wont hurt your cpu if it overheats,if tj max is reached it will safely shutdown. try laying it on its side and running it a couple hours as it may have air bubbles in it due to shipping. It is not uncommon to have some noise if this is a new unit, let it break in for a couple of days and see if the noise goes away.
POLARHINO
Laying the case on it's side worked until I stood it up again. It's 'Chirping' again + now it's worse than before. Any other suggestions  Is there a way to 'bleed' the air out of the system ? Perhaps adding a resevoir ?
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted March 19, 2013 Corsair Employees Share Posted March 19, 2013 If the noise does not go away after weeks of use, then please submit an RMA and let us replace that unit for you.
