tidyboyuk
Hi guys sorry if this has been covered / asked before, I've tried searching to no avail I'm new to forums too so bare with me if i get anything incorrect. i just wanted to ask 1 simple question really, and if anybody can help / solve it for me it would be much appreciated. basically I'm building a new gaming pc for myself i haven't built one in around 8 years but quite excited to be getting back in to it... i have all my components mapped out etc but just noticed the case that i like the Obsidian 650D says it doesn't support E-ATX but i know sometimes this doesn't matter due to size of case and screw layout so could anybody tell me if an Obsidian 650D will fit an Asus Z77 Maximus V Formula in it? thankyou in advance :-)
deees
I can't speak specifically to the Asus Z77 Maximus V Formula, but I was able to install the Rampage IV Extreme in a 650D, (during burn in.) It a little over 1/2" wider than the Formula. It covered part of the first row of cable grommets, but otherwise I had no other issues.
rea1high
i have the 650d and a standard atx asus P8Z68 deluxe. on mine i can see there's a free expansion slot below where my mobo stops. however, the psu is very close to this slot. having just taken another quick look though, it's about an inch, so it'll be tight, but i think you may well get away with it. tidyboyuk
Hi guys thanks for the response.... I've been looking into it as i just don't wanna risk it for a biscuit type thing lol as far as i can gather like you said deees its a matter of it just covering the right side cable grommets slightly... which i can live with i dont think the bottom of an E-ATX MB differs in size to the normal ATX from what ive been reading last night and this morning its just the right hand side of the MB thats longer.
