Norm74656
I'm just putting together a new LGA2011 system and I bought an H100i as the cpu cooler. I started installation and saw that the quick start guide contradicts itself on which is the correct standoff for LGA2011. I did find this thread: http://forum.corsair.com/v2/showthread.php?t=115709 that indicates that standoff H is the right one for this socket type. The quick start guide indicates that one end of the standoff goes through the motherboard into the backplate and then the mounting bracket goes on top of the pump onto the standoffs then you use the thumb screws to secure the pumps mounting bracket to the standoffs. My problem is that the H standoff has two different sizes of screws on each end and one fits the backplate but the other end is a larger screw and the thumbscrews do not fix this size screw. There is no other nut or thumbscrew in the hardware packet that fits these standoffs and I'm at a loss as how to secure the pump to these standoffs other than to try and go to the hardware store and find a nut or wingnut that fits the size screw that's on the LGA2011 standoffs. Has anyone else had this problem? - Norm
pucci821
From what I remember 2011 socket don't need back plate and pump attaches to front of motherboard with provided thumb screws. http://www.corsair.com/en/blog/how-to-install-the-hydro-series-h100i-cpu-cooler Hope it helps read this link and it says no back plate needed for 2011 socket. Norm74656
I apologize, that was totally my mistake. On the page with the picture of the motherboard with the backplate there's a sentence that says "Install the Intel Backplate onto the back of the motherboard. Note: Intel LGA2011 does not require a backplate." In my defense, the text on this quick start guide is incredibly tiny, and it's jammed between a bunch of foreign language text. Thanks for the help! - Norm
