SEJECity
About a year ago I had a failure of one of the two CMX1024-3200PT modules in my system. Corsair replaced both modules with VS1GB400C3 memory. To this day these modules pass memtest and Microsoft's memory tester. However, I have persistent problems in Windows which I am fairly certain are memory related. Firefox closes with errors 5 or more times a day. Looking at the Firefox error logs the cause is read or write errors. I also get Windows BSOD shutdowns frequently. My question is, is it likely that some configuration setting can correct this problem. Let me know what additional information is necessary to help me with this problem. Attached is a CPU-z screen shot of my memory configuration.MemoryTimings.bmp
SEJECity
I just noticed on SPD tab of CPU-z that the timings for the DIMM modules are different. I don't think I set these this way in the BIOS. Could this be done automatically. Attached is a text report from CPU-Z.CPUzRep.txt
peanutz94
As far as config is concerned, i don't see anything that jumps out. Besides the firefox logs what are your BSOD stop error codes in windows? It almost sounds more power related than memory...or even possibly a bad HDD? Just seems weird that memtest comes up clean.
SEJECity
Attached is a comma delimited text file with the last 9 crashes. I guess only one refers directly to a memory error. I recently migrated my system by an image copy to a new drive but the errors have occurred before and after the change with no apparent change in frequency so I guess the drive is probably not to blame.BSODdump.txt
SEJECity
Using Everest home edition software I see that the MB voltage that is nominally 2.5v is reading 1.50v could this be the problem?
SEJECity
Actually, I think Everest just mislabels that as 2.5v. Another program said it was nominally 1.5v. it seems pretty steady at 1.5v.
peanutz94
Looks to be more driver related or caused by WinRot. Since you migrated the drive it may be best to wipe it and reinstall windows from scratch. I know it's one of those PIA tasks but may be one more thing to knock off the troubleshooting list. Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted May 9, 2013 Corsair Employees Share Posted May 9, 2013 I would agree but you can try and set the memory voltage to 2.75 Volts and see if that helps. If you have another HDD I would do a fresh install on another HDD just to test that possibility as peanutz94 suggested.
