Is the rumoured Corsair K65 / K70 / K?? Mechanical coming?

Recommended Posts

At CES there were apparently some keyboards on display. It has been talked about here as well. So basically it is like the K60 but backlit:

The whole point in a keyboard like this is that a lot of people are crying out for a mechanical keyboard that does not have the macro/function buttons down the left hand side like the K90, is still full width with a ten key pad, is fully backlit and has dedicated media keys without having to press function/macro keys first.

The K90 is too wide and a lot of people find that the function keys on the left hand side get in the way and are sometimes accidentally hit. I have seen on the main Corsair site some banners with info on the upcoming K95 which is being pushed as being "fully mechanical". That's great, but it's going to be expensive being the flagship model and will still have the keys on the left which will not be removable.

The first company that comes to market with a keyboard like the K60 but backlit and with dedicated media keys will make a killing. Such a simple request really. I can't believe this has not been done yet.

The only thing is, a partially mechanical keyboard simply will not do. It needs to be fully mechanical on every button, with the exception of the lower profile media keys.

Can Corsair comment as to whether such a keyboard is likely to be coming out soon or any other details?

Thanks

Just want to add my +1 to this request/petition. Add your post if you feel the same. Its a shame this product doesn't exist in the market right now.

How many of us here cancelled on buying K90 or K60 last year because of the announcement that some of the switches are rubberdomes? Whoever thought of putting in rubberdome switches should get demoted. Such a bad decision. You've lost sales.

I've quoted the whole original post since its all wise advice that Corsair should take up.'

Also, for certain markets, please create a board with STANDARD ANSI layout, its very annoying having to re-learn a layout just for a particular board.

Australia, for example.

For example;

Thanks for the clarification .. I see the pix in original post and got a bit worried. The small backspace key in some layouts in particular is a bit difficult to continually adjust to, since I use different keyboards thoroughout the day.

+1 from me as well. I know you can't please all of the people all of the time, but a new K60 in black with all of the keys mechanical and backlighting would be a highly sought after board. I'm just hoping and waiting for it to come out while avoiding temptation from other manufacturers.

UPDATE! K70 K70 K70! yes! I have been putting money aside for this, now it's just a waiting game.

THE WAIT... IS OVER!!! I'm picking my K70 black up at the computer store tonight!!! Yay!

Ooooh aaaah, I have it in front of me know, typing on it. It's beautiful! I replaced my old Mechanical with it and my wife was giving me that look like "No, I'm not getting used to a new keyboard!" Then I lit it up... And she went "oooooh, can it always be lit up?" I nearly fell on the floor I thought for sure she'd balk at that. So now it has a permanent home. Yay!!!!
