fabioo
Hello, I have the following hardware configuration: ASUS P8Z77-V LE Z77 INTEL i7 3770K CORSAIR DDR3 PCI 1866 16 GB CORSAIR SSD 240 GB FORCE GT I bought it in October 2012, since I bought the PC I had problems with blue screens then resolved by updating the firmware SandForce. but since then my system (Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit) is fast but not stable. I realized early on that some programs struggled to start, and sometimes they do not respond.. with the passage of time, the situation is worsened, not only the programs, but all explorer.exe does not always respond! I happen almost every day the icons on the desktop do not work more. When I try to download something from the internet, when I select the path to save do not I see more than anything in the file system structure.. at the same time when I open folders, windows takes a few minutes to return the contents after a reboot everything goes back to normal for a while.. this situation worsens more and more and format the ssd did not solve the problem how can I fix this? I tried to clone windows on a mechanical hd and the system no longer has any trouble! Thank you Regards Fabio
Synthohol
To check if your partition is aligned. Run command box > msinfo32 > Expand "Components" > Expand Storage > Disks > look for Partition Starting Offset under the GT SSD. Partition Starting Offset / 4096 If the result came out as a whole number, your partition is aligned. If not, The partition is not aligned. just to start. fabioo
hello, thanks for the info :) This morning I had the same problem with the hd where I've cloned windows! so do not think it's a problem of the SSD! what procedure do you recommend to format the ssd? delete the volume with the windows installer utility? or proceed to the full format and with diskpart to delete the mount point? Thanks again Fabio
Toasted
Make sure the drive is plugged into a Intel SATA III 6.0Gb/s port Intel® Z77 chipset : 2 x SATA 6Gb/s port(s), gray 4 x SATA 3Gb/s port(s), blue Support Raid 0, 1, 5, 10 Supports Intel® Smart Response Technology, Intel® Rapid Start Technology, Intel® Smart Connect Technology *5 Marvell® PCIe SATA 6Gb/s controller : *6 1 x eSATA 6Gb/s port(s), red 1 x SATA 6Gb/s port(s), navy blue Source: ASUS After your update if you still have issues, we strongly recommend the following steps: 1. Complete clearing of the BIOS. This is a good idea after any firmware flash of any device. 2. Secure erase the SSD. For some users, cloning of the drive works, for others it does not. This may be dependent upon the cloning tool used. 3. A clean installation of the OS if you experience instability after a BIOS clearing and secure erase.
