tastyhouse
Can anybody let me know what their Sierra process runs at in task manager? Mine is keeping my CPU at a pretty steady 10% utilization at all times. is this normal? Seems very inefficient, once I kill the corsair link software my cpu is around 2%. I'm running windows 7 64-bit, z77 motherboard, 3770K cpu.
snfo
Mine is always below 3 %. Same CPU, OS but different motherboard
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted March 6, 2013 Corsair Employees Share Posted March 6, 2013 Do you have logging enabled and what version of the link software is installed?
wytnyt
the cpu usage will jump when the link is being displayed,if you open your task monitor and watch the cpu usage, display the link and itll jump to @10 percent but once you minimize link the cpu usage drops it takes resources to display the links values
robandcathy
10% is kinda high for a fan program. I watch blue ray movies from hard drive 25gig with a 10-11% cup usage. Edit nothing I do on computer raise's cpu except for video encoding/copying or the link
wytnyt
actually 10% is rather low since theres 10,20 and in some builds even more 'pings' for status every second.,every component fans, cpu, video, thermal probes ect.. get requested every second for current status.,where as a movie will just get a buffer request every couple of minutes big difference there
tastyhouse
Do you have logging enabled and what version of the link software is installed? I'm not sure if logging is enabled, whatever is the default setting because I haven't touched anything. Where would I check this? I am running 2.2.0 corsair link software. When I check the Sierra process its running at around 5 - 7% regularly. about 3% of my CPU is consumed by other system processes. Seems awfully high.
