HX850 will not power, maybe missing pin?

Before I file an RMA, I'd like to make sure I'm not doing anything wrong.

My motherboard is receiving power from my new power supply, and every time I try to start the computer, the power supply makes a -tink- noise, like a circuit breaker flipping, and refuses to boot. I've double-checked all my connections and found the 24 pin connector, specifically pin 20, has no wire or ground in it. Is this normal for 850s?

This is my second computer to build on my own, so I worry the mistake may be mine as opposed to a mistake in the wiring of the power supply's essential connectors.

Normal for all modern power supplies, -5v was removed from the spec

I am experiencing the same problem that you are describing with my HX850. The thing is, I can unplug both of my HDDs and my peripheral fan cable and it will power up fine and stay on. I would think this shows that the main power 24pin cable and the 8pin connector to my board and my video card connections work fine. It's when I start to plug SATA/peripheral cables into the PSU is when I experience the system making the -tink- noise and not booting up. I have been able to sustain power and boot up with one HDD plugged in but not with both HDDs and the peripheral fan cable plugged in.

This is strange because I still have my old 850 watt PSU that still works and powers my entire system just fine. I'm only replacing my PSU because the fan in my old one is broken. Because of this it makes me feel like I may just have a defective unit, but I consider myself still a novice at computers and cant shake the feeling that its user error. What did you ultimately do to fix this problem? My system specs compared to yours seems similar, maybe with mine requiring less power. Thanks for your time :)
