Swordfish
Hi All, Just assembled my new rig. The cooling is great with the product however the noise is disgraceful for a non-stock cooler. I bought the Fractal R4 for its quiet interior foam and invested in other low noise components but this is by far the loudest cooler I have came across! Corsair Link 2 (latest version) monitors my H80i fans on the Quiet profile, leaving them spinning between 800 and 900 RPM. I have seen other forums speaking of this firmware update that apparently was withdrawn. What do I do now? Is there a mysterious firmware update that will fix my problem without damaging my rig? Please help me as I this is the only thing I am ashamed of in my machine :(: I have realized I have posted in wrong area, apologies for this. Kind Regards, Ben
peanutz94
Swordfish, please use the link on the left to request an RMA and ask for the new PWM fans for your cooler. That should be what is causing the noise and the new fans should fix it. I have seen other forums speaking of this firmware update that apparently was withdrawn. What do I do now? The firmware update is in the cooling forums at the top in the stickys...latest version is 1.05 ...this is the PSU forum and probably why you missed it. No, they would just replace the stock fans to PWM. The SP's do not come in a PWM version.
Noobcase
No, they would just replace the stock fans to PWM. The SP's do not come in a PWM version. But the stocks fan of the H80I is called SP120L....
