Timmall
Yet another question...I'm running the latest link software and when playing Crysis 3, when it starts to get a little intense and the H100i fans ramp up, I'm getting a grinding noise from the pump. I know I've seen this problem posted in this forum somewhere but, can't remember where or if there was a fix posted. Can someone give me some direction? Toasted
Do you have the PWM fans? If so, is the FW on 1.05?
Timmall
Yes, the H100i came with the PWM fans and FW 1.05. The fans are plugged into the cooler block.
Toasted
In the LINK software, turn on the fan speeds and see if the pump has the grinding noise.
Timmall
Checked the fan speeds through the Link software and, no noise. I did, however, find the culprit and it was not the pump. The metal facing on one of my graphics cards was vibrating causing the most annoying grinding/buzzing noise. Bent the plate out a little and the noise is gone. Timmall
System has been down for about 3 weeks after overheated CPU. In the middle of a Skype conversation I received a temperature warning from my AI Suite software and within 15 seconds my system shutdown and I could not boot into Windows. Hoses were hot, fans on the radiator were working, light was on for the pump but, no go. Removed the cooler and re-installed the stock fan that came with my CPU and I'm back up and operating. Is pump failure a common occurrence? Haven't submitted an RMA yet been too busy at work.
Toasted
Plug the H100i's 3-pin into a fan header on your motherboard and plug the SATA power cable. Do you see any RPM Readings for the pump? Is it vibrating? If not, request an RMA to replace it.
Timmall
Well, it's been a while but, determined that the pump on my H100i did fail. Requested RMA and received a new unit. Been running stock CPU cooler with no issues other than temps being far less than optimum. Haven't given up on Corsair based on the customer service I've received but, haven't had time to get back into the game yet. I intend to install my new H100i and Link Commander within the next few days and will continue to post my experiences with these products. Looks like there have been a few changes over the past few months. Can't wait to see the improvements.
