wemdee
I think the issue is a conflict between the link software/hardware and the h100 controller. I had to RMA several h100 units over a few months for erratic fan behavior. I even replaced the link commander. I tried different versions of the software and firmware. I had to do the reset procedure by holding the button on the h100 every 3 or 4 days just to keep the fans from either stopping or running at full speed. The only thing that seemed to work was to switch to the h100i. I've been stable for almost 2 months now. I don't know exactly what it was, but I am thankful that Corsair persevered to fix it.
Timmall
Thanks for the info...I have not had any further issues with the fans ramping up or shutting down and having to implement the reset on the H100, after removing the Link. We'll see if a new Link unit and latest release of the software will correct the problems I encountered. Hope to have my new unit in a few more weeks. I, too, am pleased that Corsair continues to provide incredible support.
wemdee
Good luck. I think the problem is that the h100 is not compatible with link. Corsair doesn't make them anymore, so if you RMA it you will get a h100i.
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted March 18, 2013 Corsair Employees Share Posted March 18, 2013 I just read back through the whole thread and I agree with wemdee from what you posted it seems the Cooler is the problem not the Corsair Link. Sorry for the misunderstanding.
saitei
So if I have an H100 and just got a corsair link, should I have it RMA'd for a H100i before I even begin the process of installing it?
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted March 19, 2013 Corsair Employees Share Posted March 19, 2013 Yes I would get an RMA on the H100 and we will replace it with an H100i as the H100 is no longer in production.
wemdee
The h100i has been working very well so far. It is so nice not to wake up and hear one of the fans maxed out anymore. I upgraded to the newest link software and have the known issue of the "temperature" option not working with the LEDs, but I don't use that anyway so life is good at the moment. :sunglasse
Timmall
Thank you, wemdee, for the excellent catch and thank you, Ram Guy, for your input and tremendous support. Question for Ram Guy...so, obviously, I don't want to uninstall my H100 to RMA and be without my computer while waiting for the return to get there and a new unit shipped back to me. How can I get the new H100i shipped before send the H100 back?

Timmall
Received my replacement H100i for my H100 and got it installed a few days ago (also received my replacement Commander Link but, I haven't installed it yet). Question as it relates to the link software...my cpu temp is not accurate, bios and the Asus software shows 34c but the software shows 15c. Also, my second graphics card shows no data at all. Any ideas?
Toasted
The LINK software isn't the best for CPU temps. For the graphic card, I think it's ULPS. Disable that and see if it helps.
Timmall
First, let me say that I've read literally dozens of your posts because you seem to know what you're talking about and provide valuable advice. I'm very appreciative that you chose to answer my questions. So, I'm going to toss back a couple of Fosters and disable ULPS to see if this fixes the GPU issue. I'll post and let you know how it goes. Thanks for the help.
Toasted
Np, If disabling ULPS didn't work then it might be something else causing it.
Timmall
Yeah, disabling ULPS had no effect. Not sure what else to look at. Do you think I will get readings after I install the Commander Link?
Toasted
Try a different software and see if you can get any readings. e.g. GPU-Z, Catalyst and see if it can see the temp.
wemdee
You could try reinstalling the software. uninstall reboot delete the corsair folder in the program files floder delete the corsair folder in %appdata% install again ( and maybe reboot )
Timmall
I tried disabling ULPS again and, lo and behold, it worked!! I have readings for my second graphics card. You're the master...thanks Toasted!
