kithylin
I'm currently in day #2 of reviewing the CORSAIR Hydro Series H110 Water Cooler for NewEgg Inc's EggXpert program, and one of my 140mm fans are making a discernible "Rattle" noise when the fan is above 50% speed. At 50% or less, the rattle is gone. There's obviously something wrong with the fans shipped with my H110, my first question is what is my first course of action? Should I contact newegg for a replacement, or should I file an RMA request with corsair? My second question, is if I sought an RMA request through corsair, is there any way I could remove the fans and send only the fans in to them? I really hope that Corsair won't ask me to completely remove the entire water cooler + radiator just to have the fans replaced, that would involve significant time taking apart my i7, as I would have to remove the motherboard entirely just to get the radiator out. Any input is appreciated here. EDIT: There's nothing else wrong with my H110, it's working flawlessly in all other respects and actually works perfectly fine with the fans "Rattling" like this, but it is highly annoying. Now that I've removed my cpu fan.. my system is actually so quiet I can hear the hard drives for the first time since I built it in 2009, and I rather like this quietness.. and this rattling fan noise is getting on my nerves. EDIT #2: Now the fans are rattling at 50% rpm... I'll just switch em off and go with this large top fan on my antec 1200 for cooling the radiator for now until I figure something out. virus86
What are the date codes on the fans. My first and second set of H110 fans were both made in 12/2012. The first set rattled at full speed and my new set rattle at 50% as well.

kithylin
I've submitted an RMA request this past sunday evening (I know support is only open mon - fri) and still have no response. I don't think I have a ticket # either. I do think though I may just give up on corsair RMA and replace them with a pair of Yate Loon fans out of my own pocket, better performance anyway and still quiet. Would that void my warranty if I save the original factory fans in the box to send back if I ever need to RMA the whole unit?

Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted March 8, 2013 Corsair Employees Share Posted March 8, 2013 I've submitted an RMA request this past sunday evening (I know support is only open mon - fri) and still have no response. I don't think I have a ticket # either. If you have submitted an inquiry then should have a case # to go with it. You are always welcome to use a third party fan, just make sure the fan that you are going to use has the important feature to optimize your cooling. Like what wytnyt has mentioned, go for a fan that has a good static pressure.
