ClevelandOwnz
Okay So I am building a computer, my first at that and have a couple questions on how my airflow should be. My case is a Corsair 500R, it has two intake fans on the front, one on the side, and one exhaust fan in the back. Where my question comes into play is I also have an Corsair H100i Water Cooler and it says that I should make those two fans connected to the radiator (on the top) be intake for best results. I know that it way too much intake for the little amount of exhaust. What does everyone suggest I do?
badkarma3059
You should be fine that way. Positive pressure usually helps keep dust out of your system, assuming your intakes are filtered of course.
snfo
If is possible you can always mount your H100i's fans as exhaust fans or use the side fan as an exhaust...
ClevelandOwnz
Yeah, those are my two options. Someone was telling me that if I do my h100i fans as exhaust it'd be better for the overall system sacrificing some CPU cooling.. but I will be overclocking it to about 4.4 so I was wondering if the cooling system would still be good for that. Also I am getting an ASUS Sabertooth Z77, so that should help with some cooling also right?
peanutz94
The H100I should be just fine at that overclock. But the board you choose has no bearing on CPU temps. That is strictly up to the cooler you choose to use

Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted March 5, 2013 Corsair Employees Share Posted March 5, 2013 t'd be fine with the fans as exhausts? Given the front fans are intake, Yes, that is find but best advice is, try both configuration and see what set up gives you the best result. If you make those fans as an intake then flip the front fans to be an exhaust.
