damon69
Hey folks, I hope you are all doing well and thanks for taking the time to read my question! So I have been having a terrible time trying to get my new H100i (replacement for my H80) to fulfill all of its great promise. Nothing new, really. It isn't seen by Device Manager, LEDs are DEDs, etc. I'm cool with removing the software and just using the excellent cooling characteristics of the hardware to keep my 3770K hummin, and waiting for Corsair to fix Link. My One BIG worry, with which I feel confident all my fellow OC nutsos will empathize, is that the PUMP will not be running at optimal cooling sweetness! I can plug my 120mm HP fans straight into my MOBO and get the RPM performance I want, but I know of no way to be sure that my PUMP is running at full blast without using LINK. Since LINKy no worky... am I SOL? Or can someone in the know assure me that the PUMP defaults to an acceptably high RPM when not run by LINK? You would be sparing a fellow Enthusiast (read: obsessive/compulsive perfectionist) many hours of frustration if you could assuage my fears! I thank you! BTW I hope that this question hasn't been asked and answered 100 times already. If it has, then I apologize, but my searches came up empty. TheEdge_
Hi John My pump on my H100i is running at 2170 rpm when i look in the bios. So if yours is running around there i can't see there should be any problems.
Toasted
The pump will always run at a constant RPM. The LINK software will not effect the H100i. The pump RPM range is about 2000-2200.
damon69
Thanks for the quick replies guys! Just to be clear, you are saying that my PUMP should run at 2000+ RPM even without LINK, or the USB plug being installed, right? IOW, I'm not losing a lot of PUMP performance despite the fact that my H100i setup is crippled and lacks any of the software side of things? Cuz like I said, when I tried to install that stuff WHAM!!! a ****storm tore through my RIG from which I am only now starting to recover. It has taken me 4 hours of major tweaking/repairing/praying just to get Windows to startup again. I mean, I was even seeing the old, much dreaded Qcode 55 Memory error, which I have never seen with this particular MOBO. My PC truly did not like whatever LINK tried to do to it lol! damon69
I guess I began to worry about this question when I saw that one could set dividers for the PUMP RPM in the Link Dashboard. But if I am cool, then... I am COOL!
reddiamond
Afaik the dividers are just so that corsair link software shows the correct pump speed on the meter, you cannot adjust the pump speed as it get all its power from the sata power lead and that is constant so it will run full speed regardless :)
damon69
Thank you Reddiamond, now I can stop worrying and get back to hunting down that 5.0GHz OC! ::pirate::

damon69
Looks like you have a very nice Chippy there, my friend! From what I have seen online, doing 5 Gigs with anything less than 1.4v is pretty awesome! Unfortunately, my 3770K does not seem to be quite so generous. So far, every time I have tried 5GHz my Rig has just keeled over on me. I can run 4.85 @ 1.35v all zee time, and I have confirmed stability with many hours of P95, Intel BI etc. But even 4.9GHz just seems to fall out on me, even when I juice it up with 1.4v. This despite excellent temps, which never go higher than 81C on one core and less than 80C on the other 3 during Intel BI. P95 never pushes past 74C, and gaming is only in the mid to high 50sC. Sort of at that point that all of us hate, where I must come to terms with the reality that I have hit my hardware's maximum level of performance... sniff... ah well! Thanks again for the info!
