Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted February 28, 2013 Corsair Employees Share Posted February 28, 2013 You will need to do the Firmware 1.05 Update for PWM Fans to work properly. Just follow the directions or it may brick the unit.
remotehugger
Ok - so do i need to just restore defaults in Corsair Link or is there somewhere profiles are saved that i need to delete as well ? And should i install the new PWM fans before i flash 1.05 or after ? The directions really arent that straightforward - Fans shipped today so hopefully i can get an answer soon - thanks ! remotehugger
Can i get a better course of action as far as flashing the new FW when my new fans arrive ? The directions now are kind of limited - Thank You -
Toasted
Delete the saved profiles in the software and click Reset to Defaults. That should load up the default profile. Wait for 1 minute before updating the FW. As for the fans, it might be better to update the FW before installing the PWM fans.
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted March 5, 2013 Corsair Employees Share Posted March 5, 2013 This is very important before flashing to 1.05. If you make any changes in the settings on the unit (fan speed, profile, RGB, etc.), make sure to wait up to 1mim before you open the flash utility within the Corsair Link SW, only then it is safe to flash the cooler to FW 1.05v.
