I am sorry but it would be best to call our customer service by phone tomorrow after 7:30 AM Pacific Time.

Not really possible, as I'm in the UK. Don't wanna sound rude, but where are you getting the info I see you passing on for others?

P.S. I did ask for a status update through the tech support message page, that was on the 26th...still no reply.

It looks like they did see your request on the 26th and forwarded it to customer service. If we can we try to get the info directly from them, but sometimes it's not possible, e.g. right now they're sleeping :) In general calling them directly is the quickest way to get an update. You can call them for free by using Skype to call the 1-888 number on the contact page.

Managed to get through using Skype, was actually very quick and pain free. He said he'd moved the process along (I think it was just sitting there before), and that the fans would ship in 1-2 days...from the Netherlands.

However I asked him to update the message log with this info, and this is what he listed as the item to be sent: Two(2) CO-8950002(Corsair Fan SP120L 2700 RPM, 74.42 CFM, 120mm x 25mm TACH, Single Pack). I had a look at the item and to my alarm it looked like a 3 pin fan...i.e. not a PWM fan; is this true?

...upon careful inspection, it appears CO-8950002 is an unlisted part; maybe all is good after all.

  • 2 weeks later...

Update;

After speaking to support, the fans arrived pretty quick, sometime last week.

Once I got them, I connected them outside the case to test...I found that the whine had gone, but whilst one fan was smooth and silent, the other was rattling on & off; it actually ran rougher all round.

...So, I requested one fan to be resent, this time it arrived even quicker! Again once it arrived I tested again...this time there was no rattle...interesting I thought, does this mean rattle is down to bad fans, and not anything to do with the controller at all?!

Right, so now I have the whole thing set-up proper, there is no whine, there is no rattle; am I happy well... Kinda I guess, but it's still far from quite...the best way to describe it, is that it sounds like a generator, rather grumbly, this is at idle on 'balanced' (even on quite it grumbles) btw!

I just don't know what gives, do the fan dislike being run upside down, I don't think the noise is coming from the pump!?
