Henrybk
First of all, Hi everyone I want to start saying that each test that I post here was made multiple times to guarantee it was true. First thoughts: When I first got the H100i it was a mess, i couldn't make it work in anyway, it wouldn't be recognized by the Dashboard, windows wouldn't install its software and the time my Bios start screen appeared in boot had doubled. Findings: After a long time I discovered that if i connect my H100i to an I/O usb port it will work perfectly, it was a solution, but it gave me an extremely ugly cable in my system. So, after that i thought that the problem was the Mini usb-Usb header cable, but I decided to try the header one more time, as that external cable was horrible, as I already suspected, nothing happened, just as in the start it would not be recognized (it appeared in device manager as an HID device but wouldn't work). Then I decided to try the header without any of my other usb devices connected, it didn't work either. Then I decided to try to plug the header cable into the pump with the system on, it was diferent, windows showed an unknown device at device manager, but it still not worked. So I followed the instructions to uninstall the unknown device by right clicking in it in device manager and choosing it, after a reboot it came back to the start: not recognized and in device manager as a HID device In that state I tried a boot without any usb device except the h100i, and, Voilà, it worked, i could connect my usb devices back and everything would work perfectly with the header cable. After a reboot with the usb devices plugged in it went back to its state of non recognization. So I discovered that, in this state (where boot takes longer), the H100i can't work because ou incompatibility with other devices. After a lot of tests i discovered that it won't work with anything, I tried: mouse alone, keyboard alone, mouse plus keyboard, bluetooth adapter alone, pretty much every possible combination, it would only work if totaly alone. After all this I tried some mome combinations and discovered that with an Mini usb - Usb cable plugged into the I/O panel the H100i will always work, independent of what is connected on the computer, but with the header cable it will only work alone. Solutions: Well this may or may not work, but it worked for me. 1º Error: If you are having the unknown device problem with the yellow box: Go to the Device manager, right click on the Unknown device (it will be in yellow), and choose uninstall, shut down the computer, disconnect all usb devices except the h100i, and power it up, wait some minutes and connect back your mouse and keyboard (and any other device you have) and go to dashboard see if you can now control it. If this works remember, every time you make a boot, you mustn't have any usb device except the H100i, in this case you will fall on the 2º error. 2º Error: If your H100i is not detected by the Dashboard, no unknow device error and your bios screen time is doubled: Check if your H100i is on the device manager, you can do this by looking for an "USB Input Device" and a "HID-compliant device", both will have the hardware ID "HID\VID_1B1C&PID_0C04" and "HID\VID_1B1C&PID_0C04&REV_0200". If they are there this means your H100i is being recognized but it is in conflict with something, try removing all your usb devices and rebooting, wait a minute or two and replugg them, now go to the Dashboard and see if the problem is solved. If this works remember, every time you make a boot, you mustn't have any usb device except the H100i, in this case you will fall on the 2º error again. Alternative Solution: You can just grab and put a Mini-Usb to Usb cable and plug your pump to the I/O panel and it will mostly work with no other problems. I wish this will help someone with their problems. And to all of you who are having problems: Good Luck

linx
This is very informative. Thanx. Looks like i have a possible solution to test out tonight. :) Works like a charm. Thanx for the nudge. By the way, i am using a H80i and have managed to get this working with a USB cable directly connected to the PC I/O port. Connecting to the mobo was a nightmare.
