CMV8GX3M2A1333C9 won't run in W8 64 built mode

Dear Team - your assistance, if possible...I have a Gigabyte MB as spec'd in my profile. I recently installed an SSD and loaded W8 64 bit OS, alongside the HDD based W7 32 bit OS. All was happily dual booting, with the MB fitted with 4GB Corsair memory, namely CMV4GX3M2A1333C9. To take advantage of the larger memory address space, I ordered and installed the Corsair CMV8GX3M2A1333C9 modules, to give me the max-permissible 8GB of memory. Installing this memory causes the system to get as far as self-test (8GB of memory registered by the BIOS) before at recycles at the point it tries to boot W8. I can get the W7 installation to boot by forcing the BIOS to boot from the HDD first, rather than the from the SSD. Reinstalling the 4GB causes all to work well again.

I have read through many of your threads and altered various BIOS settings, such memory voltage (raised it to 1.6V) and memory freq (reduced it to 1066) without success. I am confused in that I have replaced like-for-like in terms of model number of the 8GB vs the 4GB units...can you offer any guidance?

Sell both those kits and buy one kit of 8GB RAM, a lot of the time 2 seperate kits won't play nice together.

CMV8GX3M2A1333C9 is a 2x4gig kit.

Having said that I would first make sure you have the latest BIOS for your Mb and flash to the latest version if you have not done so already. Then reset the CMOS and then insert just one of the new modules and see if it will post then. If so , you can add the second module and see what happens.
