Can be that they are hard to adjust in the beggning.
Diyadin
Hey, You can adjust the backplate holes where the screws are supposed to be fitted to. Can be that they are hard to adjust in the beggning. Check this picture, you see the "nuts" at the screw holes. You can adjust them to get them to fit the holes on the motherboard. https://www.google.se/search?q=H100i+backplate&aq=f&um=1&ie=UTF-8&hl=sv&tbm=isch&source=og&sa=N&tab=wi&authuser=0&ei=38grUYmaEYXJ4ASZwIHIAw&biw=1920&bih=979&sei=4cgrUZ2wJYeI4ASHuIHQAg#imgrc=07QtoOxotbCmzM%3A%3BO3fknGkGujUN2M%3Bhttp%253A%252F%252Fwww.guru3d.com%252Findex.php%253Fct%253Darticles%2526action%253Dfile%2526id%253D1371%3Bhttp%253A%252F%252Fwww.guru3d.com%252Farticles_pages%252Fcorsair_h100i_review%252C6.html%3B700%3B466
sjprg
Thank you. I'll try that. The instruction booklet they send in the box is impossible to read even if your eyes are 20/20. Is Corsiar too cheap to put a proper manual in the box?

sjprg
Thanks again. moving the mounting nuts corrected the problem. They were stuck, it just wasn't obvious that they would move.
