zzcool
i am about to build a new pc once the 900D releases and i care ALOT about looks more so then performance (in a balanced way) and i have been very interested in the h100i because of it's looks but i have only read bad things about the new i series leds dying bsods really buggy software is the h100i worth getting or should i go with the newer h110 or h90 i wanted the i series due to the looks of it 1.square pump (looks alot better then round) 2.the led but after reading about it i am reconsidering i also hope any newer generation won't use the type of tubes the old ones used i like the new flat ones only reason i wen't for the antec h20 620 over corsair a few years ago
Darkwing
I say, go for it! They are working on an update for the software, so that won't be an issue. I did not have a bsod (yet), so can't comment on that one. It looks cool and works very well. Usually you only read bad things, as the people who experience good things don't post. :-)
Ragingsoul
It looks cool and works very well. yeah, if: - you don't mind their program accessing your HD every second - you don't mind sound problems. The H100i sure works well, but create many sound problems for many people. Some of those you can work around (connecting fans to motherboard or buying new fans) and some you can't work around depending on your setup (The pump on mine is running at 2360 RPM and I can't change it, because it's coming from Sata Power which puts out 12.2V). The idea behind watercooling is to have less noise for the same or more heat dissipation than air cooling. Also to have something smaller than a 1kg cooler. The H100i is small, heat efficient, but for many people including myself, not something I'm happy sound wise. The thing is, you can live with 2 or 3 more degrees hotter, but a very high pitch noise (doesn't have to be loud in dBs) can really be irritating. Conclusion: if you want something cool, and you're willing to take the risk of having the kit making some sound, then take it. If you want something efficient for OCing and don't mind some sound, take it. if you want something silent above all, and don't really care for the design, I would suggest waiting, or taking something else. remotehugger
i have an AMD sysytem and the only problem i have is the high pitched whine caused by the fans which Corsair has made rite with the PWM fans (which im still waiting for - lol - and the incorrect reading of cpu temps - but thats also being addressed with a SW update) but no BSOD's - no constant access to HDD's - no problems with Corsair Link - getting excellent cooling with my 6300 o/c'ed to 4.2 with 1.45 volts - not to mention how awesome it looks in my case - id say its def. worth getting - dont forget, this is a support site, 99% of the posts are people with issues - i am extremely happy with my H100i and think you would be too - click it and get it coming ! peanutz94
the fans can be replaced so thats not an issue i also read something gets worn out after you replace the fans? I'm not sure what your talking about. Different fans can't cause anything to get worn out. Do you have a link to this information because nothing has been reported here. @Darkwing Quote: The idea behind watercooling is to have less noise for the same or more heat dissipation than air cooling. Although water cooling in general has a greater cooling capacity that allows you to run the fans at lower RPM's. But other than that your going to have fan noise no matter what. Especially at higher loads as the fans spool up. Your not really gaining much as far as noise goes. It's not a totally silent set-up. If dead silence is what you are after then a passive heatsink is the ticket. zzcool, Corsair sells tens of thousands of these coolers a month. So even if you took all the complaints and issues you could find it's still a small percentage of users that are having issues with these. I'm in no way saying that there are not problems here and there, just that your chances of getting one that does have problems is actually quite small.
