ronss
I bought the h100i today, and am very happy with the cooling i have observed so far...some questions- 1. the power connector to the pump with the 3 pin fan connector, i have the sata connector connected to a sata cable... and should the 3 pin fan connector be connected to the cpu fan connector on motherboard? if not, then nothing is connected to the cpu fan connector? 2. also, when i boot into windows, i get unrecgonized usb device....is that normal...i am thinking its detecting the link usb cable connected to the pump and attached to usb cable on motherboard
Toasted
1. Yes, THe 3-pin from the H100i should be connected to the CPU_FAN header as it prevents the CPU_FAN error. It also gives you the same error if the pump does fail. 2. No it's not normal. If you are not planning to use the software, you can disconnect it as it will not affect H100i. If you want to, Have you tried a different USB header? Latest BIOS and chipset drivers?
ronss
okay...will see about bios, firmware updates..... agree, when the 3 pin fan connector was connected to a non-cpu connector, i was gettting cpu fan error i will try another usb header... the corsair link 2 software,,,,seems not that great,,,,and when i set the fans to 100%, i don,t hear a difference in speed
ronss
okay...resolved the un-recgonized usb device, i switched the corsair link usb cable around with another usb connector, and rebooted...windows detected it and installed the software.....problem solved i seem to have most of the kinks worked out now...i am running my i5-3570 at 4.3ghz, and ran intel burn test on stanard setting...got 60c average...not too bad i must say for that much overclock...
