m3owie
Here are some issues I encountered while fixing the H80i the day before: 1) the installation manual showed that I am supposed to get 8 washers. I got 4 only. Well, this is a small issue but I am not the only one who experienced this. 2) the installation manual mentioned that the stock fans will show the direction of the air flow. there was no direction of the air flow on the fans anywhere! while referring to the manual, the manual showed the air flow in the wrong direction as well. Now, this was frustrating. 3) the installation manual screwed things up over the screws (no pun intended). It's printed "Install the provided standoff screws. Use H for LGA 1155/1156, and G for LGA2011. blah blah". At the bottom of the pages, the screws are labelled the other way round. What's up with that? 4) This is the part where I really need help - my corsair link does not show my H80i fans, so I cant change the fan speed (it shows Corsair Hydro USB though). I've checked and double checked my connections and jumbled up my USB connections, but nothing works. My pump's LED is white no matter what (well, at least it lit up). Drivers seem to be working properly as well. Should I RMA this unit? Many thanks!

Toasted
Have you tried a different USB header? Try a mini USB B to type A cable and see if that works.
m3owie
I've tried asking the technical guy in the computer shop where i bought my computer parts at and he recommended against it And asked me to contact the tech support at my local distributer. Has this method worked for you? I've only seen one instance in this forum where it worked after Trawling the Web for 2 days :( Edit: ok. just tried using mini USB B to type A cable. corsair link now doesnt display the hydro usb :'( screenshot in next post

Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted February 22, 2013 Corsair Employees Share Posted February 22, 2013 Try to hotplug the USB connector from the MB USB header.. unplug it and plug it back in while the system is running (Idle). OR maybe move it to a different header.
m3owie
Hey ram guy, I tried that last night as well after seeing you mention it in another thread. I believe it was to unplug the pump usb for 5 minutes, uninstall corsair link, restart the computer, install the software again and hot plug it. Well, that didn't work As well. Toasted
If you had recently purchased the H80i, contact your seller and ask if they can replace it for you. If not, request an RMA.

m3owie
USB link is correct. I know because if i disconnect the USB link, i can't even see the CPU temp in corsair link. this whole thing is baffling. That's how i installed my radiator as well. It's pretty hard to explain without pictures. I'll post pictures later on when I reach home to describe issue

m3owie
phew. i thought i was the only one who experienced this same issue. i've only seen users who mention they cant detect the fan, but they never mentioned whether corsair link displayed their corsair hydro usb under "devices". m3owie
ok. An update after seeing Synthohol's post about USB ports (the post is missing for some unknown reason, but i wont be pasting it here) I revisited using a USB cable to plug the pump to a USB port. Made a quick check only to realize the first time I did it, the USB cable only supplied power (how muddleheaded can I get to not check the cable first:sigh!: ) This method works; I can confirm it. I plugged it into my USB2 port and USB3 port and it works with either ports. The only problem I encountered was that the first time i started up my computer with the USB cable plugged into my USB3 port, the computer froze while installing the drivers for the pump. It's fine now though (touch wood). Jai: try this method and see if it works for you. And remember to use a USB cable that supports data  ram guy: please add support for the USB cable supplied with the H80i. This method works but is unsightly. ysu
I've a very similar, possibly the same issue; Everything is in working condition, however the fans don't show up in the CorsairLink2 software, but they don't spin up either, even under heavy load! Can you explain what exactly have you done to fix it? You're talking about USB cables...isn't the supplied USB cable good? How come it's faulty for us only, but not for other people? Please help, support does not seem to be all that responsive...despite of the promised 8 work hour response, there's nothing after 24 hours. Edit: oh, I've tested the fans by plugging them onto the mobo cpu & cpu opt fan connectors. They work nicely.

Does your fans run at full speed upon cold boot and slow down once everything is up and running? Cause that was the case for me. I did not place my setup under full load when CL2 software couldn't detect my fans so I can't comment about that. The USB cables are good, but the software/firmware/USB mobo header seems to have difficulties detecting the fans when using the supplied USB cables. I'd requested a new USB cable from Corsair and tested to no avail. So it's not the cable issue. I'm not sure where the problem lies though. To use your new cooler properly, just use a USB cable to plug it to your USB port instead for now. No telling when Corsair staff might be able to fix this issue. What mobo are you using? I'm using a Asrock B75m-DGS.
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted May 14, 2013 Corsair Employees Share Posted May 14, 2013 Please help, support does not seem to be all that responsive...despite of the promised 8 work hour response, there's nothing after 24 hours. Do you have ticket # I can look at? In the C link SW, is it just the fans that are not showing? what about the pump? CPU Temp? I wanted to know if its just the fans that are not being detected or everything else are not seen in C link SW. Have you tried using the other fan port on the pump? I hoping its just the Y fan cable and nothing else. btw, are you using 3pin fan or PWM fans (4pin)?
ysu
Thanks for addressing this issue for me. Do you have ticket # I can look at? Ticket #6016969 In the C link SW, is it just the fans that are not showing? what about the pump? CPU Temp? I wanted to know if its just the fans that are not being detected or everything else are not seen in C link SW. Everything else seems to be showing, I see the h80i led, h80i h80i temp, h80i pump, cpu %, cpu temp, both gtx670 fan & temps, even a seagate drive temp. Have you tried using the other fan port on the pump? I hoping its just the Y fan cable and nothing else. Just one. I didn't even notice another fan port. btw, are you using 3pin fan or PWM fans (4pin)? 4-pin pwm, I've tried the cpu, the cpu-opt and the chassis-1 ports. Edit: ok this 2nd port question made me have a look, and I've messed up the installation. (note to self; don't put the new computer together after a 30-hour flight) I've plugged the fans in before the bracket. This has resulted in the Y-cable being squashed under the bracket. I've now got it out, and the fans work, but not functioning reliably. At this point I'd like to ask for a replacement Y-cable (at my own cost) please.
