Legoless
Hello everyone, I am slowly going out of my mind by the Asus Rampage 3 Extreme memory configuration. I am probably never buying Asus again. I'm having problems to run my Corsair kit anything above DDR3-1066, which is almost half the speed of declared by Corsair. I have the 3x4GB CMX12GX3M3A2000C9 kit (I actually have two, so the kit is definitely not faulty). The only way I get past POST is by having all memory settings set to Auto, which then gives 133x25 = cca 3285 MHz on the CPU, 131 bus speed and QPI link of around 2400 MHz. The memory is run at 526 MHz, being at PC3-8500F. It is run of course in triple channel. The system is stable, but very slow (takes 3-5 seconds to load few desktop icons) and sluggish. There is no way to increase the memory speed at all. I've played around BIOS settings a bit and tried the next things:- Legacy USB is off- All to default, then set XMP on.- On XMP mode, lowered the DDR2000 to DDR1866 and DDR1600- Increased QPI voltage to 1.45 V and memory voltage to 1.65 V And of course mix and match most of the possibilities. The rest of my system specs are in the profile, but I do not think they would be relevant. I am running latest firmware on all hardware. Now I am thinking, do I have a faulty mobo or I am doing something wrong here? Thank you very much for your help!
peanutz94
Are you or do you have the CPU overclocked ? Or is it at stock values ?
Legoless
I am trying to keep CPU at stock 3.20 GHz, yes.
NELSONTHE2ND
I'll post my bios settings when I get off work. I have the same motherboard and memory. It's boots up perfectly fine and stable.
