Jmrgn59
Hello, I have an HP Pavillion e9270f. The audio is listed as "Integrated Realtek ALC888S / 6-channel high-definition audio / AC97 - No .................... I should have the speakers next week and want to know if the onboard audio will suffice or should I invest in a soundcard, and if so, any recommendations on a decent inexpensive soundcard. Thank for any help, John
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted February 21, 2013 Corsair Employees Share Posted February 21, 2013 Its best to try it on your onboard sound first to see if you're satisfied with it. Sound is very subjective so while others may want a dedicated sound card, it isn't always necessary if you're fine with how they sound out of the box with your system. Jmrgn59
That makes a lot of sense. I'll try the onboard 1st. Thanks bud........
hackztor
I would say onboard is fine nowadays with the newer machines for most people that are not audiophiles. Putting in an extra soundcard can give you better sound. (150 dollars for a good sound card vs a motherboard that cost 150 you can see the audio would not be as good).
