philharmonik
I have a kit of Corsair ram CM3X8GSDKIT1066 (2x4Gb). After I install the RAM it will not POST. The laptop powers on for a few seconds, then shuts off. There is a light flashing on the keyboard where the F keys are. I looked that up on Dell's website and if the light is flashing, it means the RAM is not compatible. How is that the case, when the RAM is the same specs of the RAM that it's replacing? Any ideas?? Thanks! :D:
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted February 20, 2013 Corsair Employees Share Posted February 20, 2013 I am sorry but all of our current DDR3 memory that is in the channel will use 512m X 8 memory IC's which will not work with older systems. You would have to do an RMA directly from us to get a module that will work in that system or purchase it directly from us. Sorry, but you can use the link on the left and request an RMA and we can replace them.

philharmonik
It looks like I will need to keep this RAM for future use here at work. Can you recommend a kit 2x4GB that will work in this laptop? Please! Thanks!

peanutz94
philharmonik Other than an RMA , there isn't much else they would be able to do. You can call CS and request an advanced replacement so you can keep the others till the new set arrives, but you would still be required to send the first kit back. philharmonik
I dont' want or need to RMA anymore. We are going to hold on to this kit of RAM for future use in another system. I'm just trying to get an answer on what kit of RAM I need for this laptop. Corsair ram that is. All I need is a link or something to what I need. Thank you! :D:
peanutz94
As RamGuy pointed out previously, there would be no Corsair modules that would be compatible with that system anymore. Sorry! philharmonik
As RamGuy pointed out previously, there would be no Corsair modules that would be compatible with that system anymore. Sorry! Maybe I'm confused here, but what did he mean by this then? "You would have to do an RMA directly from us to get a module that will work in that system or purchase it directly from us." If there are no Corsair modules that are compatible with this laptop, then why would RAM guy suggest I RMA it to "get a module that will work in that system or purchase directly from them"?????

They may have older stock that would work in that machine in their warehouse, but not sold on the open market.

Snaptastic
Sorry to dig up an old thread, I am looking for an 8gb kit for a Dell e4300, I signed up just to ask here. Is there any option available from Corsair that will work these days? I see the CM3X8GSDKIT1066 kit available at a local retailer (I live in Sweden). Thanks in advance for your help :)
